Way to go! I think I walk the line between being introverted and extroverted...but being in a new place with no really good friends pushes me squarely into the introvert side. Have Fun!

Good for you!
I am more extroverted but I prefer to be around people that I already know. I get super self-conscious when I try to make friends with people I don't really know. I lost most of my "friends" during this divorce process so I trying to branch out and it's hard. I recently had some okay experiences with making friends at work and a couple meetup groups so I just try to remind myself of those times when I get anxious. It's the only thing that keeps me from bailing at the last minute!
Good for you! Remember that just because you organized it, you aren't necessarily expected to be a "host" you know? So don't feel the pressure of making sure everyone is having a good time. Have fun!

I totally hear you!
I adore jigsy and am so glad she's moved near me. But I don't want to harass her all the time to hang out... hehe. So yay for trying something new!
I totally feel the same way! I am always worried that I am bugging the people I already know, lol.
So, just so you know, I'm pretty much always down to hang out, lol.

I feel the same way about a couple of my coworkers! I feel like I am asking them hang out all the time and I don't want to push myself into the annoying category.
I was a total nervous wreck before my first meetup group meeting. I sat in the parking lot of the coffee shop for about 15 mins before I got the nerve to go inside. No one from these groups has moved over to the category of "friends" yet but I think there's some potential so it was totally work the nerve wracking moments
I walk the line between intro/extrovert, but I think I tend more toward introverted, especially as I get older (and my social anxiety gets worse, womp womp). Actually, what's funny is that I'm FOR SURE more confident than I've ever been in myself and yet my social anxiety creeps in more and more.
A couple of my friends went to Brazil for the World Cup and all I could think was that I would need to lock myself in my room for a month if I spent a week at the World Cup. LOL
Yay, mp! I'm sure you'll have fun. I'm an introvert, too, but I prefer bigger groups when it's people I don't know well. It's easier to chat and move to someone else, and there's a higher probability you'll hit it off with someone. When it's a smaller group or one-on-one, I feel pressured to keep the conversation going (not my strong suit!).

That will be fun for you! I'm sure you'll have a great time. I'm also pretty introverted, and I have social anxiety, but I really open up with people I enjoy and get to know. I've heard from a few friends that they would have never guessed in the beginning that I was so shy and such an introvert, so I guess I hide it well, haha.
