We are registered for the City Mini Baby Jogger stroller. We also registered for the Chicco KeyFit 30 carseat, which a friend gave us last weekend, and the Chicco snap and go stroller frame.
I'm wondering if we should just get the adapter for the City Mini instead. The stroller frame is $100 and the adapter is $50, and since he'll be in the infant seat mostly in the winter when we won't be out and about as much, I can't imagine us using the snap and go frame a ton anyway.
I didn't buy a snap and go at first and ended up wanting it right away because it's so much easier to tote around than the bigger stroller. I kept it in my car and then used the big stroller at home. So yes, I'd get the snap and go.
I probably would just get the adapter. Cheaper, less junk around. We never had either and didn't miss it one bit. I don't like leaving the baby in the car seat, even in cold weather. The City Mini reclines flat so you can use it for a newborn.
I loved my snap and go and used it about a zillion times more than I have used his "real" stroller. I had a car seat sleeper, so it was great to not have to carry his seat around. Those things are so big and awkward. Snap n go's are easy to get used.

Get the snap n go. You can buy it used for about $20 on CL, and it is so much better than using a full sized stroller before you need to. It's light weight and compact. I agree with pp that I used the snap n' go more than I used the real stroller overall.

We also have/had the Chicco Key Fit 30 and the Baby Jogger City Mini. I had the Snap and Go (not the Chicco brand one) that I bought used for maybe $25.
I'm happy I had the Snap and Go, although I have thought several times that I should have just bought the adapter for the City Mini. We didn't buy our City Mini until DD was 5 months old, so before that the Snap and Go was our only "stroller." It depends on what you plan to use it for, and that's something you won't really know until after the baby arrives.
I almost never carried DD around in her carseat as an infant -- she hated it, so I just took her out and held her or put her in a baby carrier of some sort. So I almost never carried the Snap and Go around in my car to use in stores or things like that. What I did use the Snap and Go for was walks around the neighborhood -- but it was kind of a pain because I'd have to strap her into the carseat in order to go on a walk, and she hated the carseat. Plus, the Snap and Go tires are hard plastic and not great if you have bumpy and uneven sidewalks. The City Mini is great on uneven sidewalks -- it has a much smoother ride.
So, for my purposes, getting the carseat adapter for the City Mini would have worked out better. But if you have a baby who falls asleep in the car, you're definitely going to want the Snap and Go so you can easily bring a sleeping baby with you when you're out and about.
I say buy whichever you can get cheaper -- a used carseat adapter (maybe hard to find) or a used Snap and Go (very, very easy to find). See what you need, then you can always get something different. I don't *think* you can use the City Mini with a newborn (without the carseat adapter I mean), but I could be wrong. It goes pretty close to flat, but there's not much support in the back -- it seems like it wouldn't support a newborn's head well enough.

I never drive and walk everywhere. The snapngo would have been a waste. Ut doesnt drive as well and it isnt easier unless you are in the car. We also rareky used the carseat as stroller. We just used the stroller.

Loooove the snap n go! We use it all the time, and it barely takes up space in stores or restaurants. We can sit at a regular table, and the snap n go just replaces a regular chair. We have the Key Fit Caddy- it's frequently on sale at BRU.

I have the Citi Mini with the adapter. I use it all the time. The adapter was so easy and the Citi Mini is so light and easy to use that I think that would be the best option.
I would get the adapter. Like Ashley, we have the Britax B-Agile, which is a direct competitor to the City Mini, and I've never wanted a Snap 'n Go as well. They are light enough to just throw in the trunk and take wherever.

adapter for sure ... City Mini is an awesome stroller and is not bulky, so there is very little difference between the frame+infant seat or the City Mini + infant seat. Use the $50 to buy the snack tray or belly bar for the stroller, you will want those when LO gets older!

I have a city mini with the Chicco car seat adaptor. It's definitely the way to go. The city mini handles much better than a snap and go, we have old uneven sidewalks and I think the SnG would have been a disaster. I will warn you that the adaptor is really tricky to install (the directions suck) DH watched a you tube video in order to figure it out.
Seems like it's the latter. The former I would assume is for the regular Baby Jogger baby jogger (say that three times fast), not the City Mini.
ETA: Now I see I'm wrong. But this actually looks like kind of a PITA. Our B-Agile adapter came with the stroller and is really easy and secure. If this is really the adapter I'd probably try to find the Chicco frame, then.

We never used either, but I would probably go with theadapter over the snap and go. I did not really want to keep DD in her carseat when she was not in the car. This idea worked well for us since she hated being in her car seat as a newborn. If your stroller goes flat, I would just use the stroller like that.

DH used the snap n go a few times (the bigger stroller stayed in my car). Defintely look for a used one cause you problaby wont' use it too much since you said it would be in the winter
