What do you subscribe to and what's a typical sampling of items that come in it? I'm so out of the loop and would love to try something (hello Kendra Scott earrings I missed out on w popsugar!) Why not add another box coming to my door monthly right
I'm just doing Ipsy and I do really love it. I would say I am actually using everything they are sending me-- right now this lip gloss they sent is my fave and I use it daily. I also switched my moisturizer because I was loving the one they sent. I don't know if I just set up my preferences perfectly or if they're just naturally nailing it!
I only tried BirchBox and didn't love it. I got a few cool things like the Dr Lipp lip balm which I'm obsessed with but otherwise it was just tons of random tiny tubes of something or samples of perfume that I didn't love. When I realized I had a full makeup bag of that I the cupboard I cancelled. I'm intrigued by Ipsy. Maybe I should look into that one.

I do Ipsy and did Glossybox until the summer. I had been feeling meh about Ipsy until recently- I've really liked the last few and like the other I love all those make-up mags.
I Cancelled Glossybox to cut down on costs while I was on maternity leave and I am seriously considering re-joining.
I would love to try Popsugar(?) that one seems to have great things.
I just started using Golden Tote and I like it so far. I'm so bad about branching out in my style, so this works for me.
I haven't heard of this one yet! How does it work?
It's a clothing box, so you can pick which level of box (small or large) and then you get to pick 1 item for the small or 2 for the large from their boutique. They then stock the rest with surprises based on your profile. I've only had two small boxes and I liked everything except one so-so item.

This blogger does more reviews than anyone else I have seen. Almost everything she gets is either awesome for her or for someone she knows (rare negative reviews) but I guess that works for her. Positive press keeps those boxes going her way! She also shares good coupon codes and seems like a nice person. www.ramblingsofasuburbanmom.com/

And I agree- I love getting and using the bags!
I'm the same - I've found some really great products that I would never have tried. In this most recent one, I got a highlighter from some brand I've never heard of (so obviously would never have purchased) and almost didn't use it, but when I did for the first time yesterday, I really, really liked it. There have been a number of things like that. A few duds, too, but some really great ones.
However, I don't use the bags. I think I need more ideas to get into the habit of using the bags because otherwise it just seems wasteful.
I've also gotten Julep, and while I enjoyed it (and actually love their non-polish stuff with no duds) there's just a point where I don't need more polish. I've got a massive bin full. Eventually, I'm just getting more of the same color.
maddysmum I've been using the bags for travel- nice keeping things like jewelry, hair ties/bobby pins and feminine products separatesd. I've also used them to hold my travel receipts. General purse organizers. They even help organize my junk drawers.

The Box Queen is another blogger that mostly blogs about her subscription boxes!
I get birchbox, and LOVE IT! Ive gotten 2 months so far. I love all of the little samples. Last month I actually bought a full size of the perfume I received. Looks like i need the popsugar box!
I just received my second Birchbox and have to say I was very disappointed. I received my NewBeauty Test Tube yesterday and loved what they sent me! It is more expensive at $29.95 but I have received really great products in each tube.
Will have to try some of the other ones you all are suggesting. Thx.
Had both birchbox and ipsy. I cancelled ipsy and kept birchbox, but I'm thinking of switching. I feel like I've gotten a combination of good stuff and crappy stuff. I'm not into foil packets of stuff. I don't always love getting samples of creams either. I like when they give actual makeup samples.

I get Birchbox and love it. I've had it for over 2 years and even with the misses, the points you get for each review add up for a lot of credit. I do the reviews and bank points as long as I can to get the stuff I really want or love. So far, I got $70 off my Clarisonic and my last tube of Dr Jart+ BB cream was free ($40 value). I didn't do reviews at first, but once I started them my boxes got better.
I also get Julep which is $19.99 a month. In addition, you get 20% off everything all the time, a free polish for every 3 straight boxes in a row that you accept, and secret sale access. The bottle are a nice shape that save space. You can accept or swap to a different box with Julep, skip a month, or ship it to a friend for a gift. There is a window that you need to make changes during, but I have an alert set in my phone to remind me to look at the boxes and make changes. They also have Jules that turn into credit when you place orders. The boxes can be two full size nail polishes that retail around $15 each and a makeup or skincare item, or three polishes. If you like all of the polishes or makeup for the month, you can upgrade to buy the full collection of just polishes or everything. The other products can be blister block sticks, makeup remover, blush, eyeliner, or anything else they offer.
I started with Birchbox and Ipsy (it was called MyGlam when I subscribed) but got tired of the foil packets and endless moisturizer samples. With my sensitive skin I just wasn't using them. I did love Birchbox's points system, though, and I got some really nice hair products with my points.
I did Glossybox for awhile, but wasn't in love with the majority of my boxes and couldn't justify the cost for what I was getting. When I cancelled that I joined Julep, which I've enjoyed if only because I get to see exactly what they're planning ot send me and I can skip as many boxes as I want. I probably only get three or four a year at this point. I agree with whoever upthread said that their non-polish offerings are really nice.
Popsugar is stupidly expensive (up to $40/box now) but the last few have been huge wins for me so I'm going to keep subscribing. I took a break at the beginning of the year and found that I really missed the surprise gift aspect of the box. That's probably not enough to justify $40 every month, but I haven't gotten a dud box since I re-subscribed, and the last few have absolutely paid for themselves with the TooFaced palette in May, beach/pool stuff I was going to buy anyway in June, some nice workout-related things in July, and the fabulousness of the Kendra Scott and Bite products this month.
