I was going to wait until tomorrow when I know my estrogen but that won't be for like 20 hours so I'm updating now.
Insurance hasn't officially signed off yet because my doctor's office is trying to get them to say yes to ICSI and assisted hatching but it sounds like they are just hammering out those details. Cautiously optimistic.
And I have no idea what assisted hatching even is so off to Dr. Google.
Good luck And sorry, but assisted hatching sounds like you are a chicken. Whatever works, right?
So I guess they take the embryo and remove the shell so there's less resistance to stop it from hatching. Dr. Google says it's meant for women who have had multiple transfer failures or who are over 40 but I guess it's standard practice at my doctor's office. But they won't know if they're going to do it or not until they see my eggs. I guess they just want insurance to okay it if it gets to that point. But it can also mess up the egg in some circumstances and we're only planning on transferring one (!) so I hope we get at least a couple good ones.
Ahh information overload! So glad you guys are here because H really has no idea what the hell I'm talking about and I don't want to stress out my family. I tried to talk to my coworker who is pregnant with twins from this same doctor about number of eggs to transfer and she was like "I always do three" and I asked her why and she was all "why not?" Yikes.
Great news! I hope you have some nice embie(s) to transfer! Are they still thinking retrieval will be Fri?
They haven't really said much about that. As of Monday we were thinking Friday but then there was the weird E2 level so I guess we'll see tomorrow. I still haven't asked for the day off so hopefully I'll know soon.
