There were a lot of complaints that PBS edited (and dumbed down) the US shows. Did you watch the original version of the DVDs or the PBS version? If the original, what did you think of them compared to the PBS version? (I'm debating buying the original.)

I never watched it on PBS just DVD so I don't have anything to compare them with.

I watched Season 1 on DVD, Season 2 on PBS. I didn't do a minute-by-minute comparison of any episodes or anything, but I thought the PBS airings were what I expected.

I watched on Hulu, also saw it is on netflix, and redbox has the DVD now. Would Hulu be the same as DVD? I didn't realize PBS edited it down. I was looking forward to it

I don't think all stations are playing it. I just checked my local listings and they are still showing Sherlock Holmes through end of June.

Yeah, this must be a local thing, it's not playing here super bummed, we have been waiting for season 2 to come in from Netflix for over 6 weeks now.

My understanding is that the UK and US versions are all but identical, but that the same number of minutes of programming was turned into more episodes per season in the UK because it was shown with commercials. Because PBS doesn't have commercials, it was just fewer episodes here.
