On the same day I found out a classmate of mine is a doc in Rwanda with PIH and met pres Clinton, I found out another classmate of mine is on Love in the Wild. From the same school. All gifted
Which made me think of how strange it was that I've known quite a few reality tv people (Apprentice, Real World, Celebrity Rehab) at least in passing, mostly from high school. It's really surprising how ubiquitous these shows have become.
At least I don't know anyone from Toddlers & Tiaras.
So share your tenuous connections to 15 minutes of fame/infamy.
I just met a guy who does audio for a lot of the reality shows and stuff on NatGeo. He's worked on Hell's Kitchen, Masterchef, and a few other good ones. I don't know anyone who's been on the shows though.

Someone who volunteers at the animal shelter with me applied and was interviewed for Monster In Law (about horrible mothers-in-law). This person is desperate to get on a reality TV show -- ANY reality TV show.
Between that, her hypochondria, and her husband's paranormal investigation business, I'm actually thankful she unfriended me (though I'm a little curious about what prompted her to do it).

A sister of a old coworker was on Survivor a few years back. Then she was on House Hunters International just recently. A mom in my new mom's group was on Let's Make a Deal.
I used to work with the guy who, with his fiancee, won Race to the Altar. We were both in college and worked at an ice rink, and this was several years before the show aired. Super nice guy. I believe he's a lawyer now.

My friend's brother placed 3rd on season 5 of American Idol (Taylor Hicks & Katherine McPhee were first and second). An acquaintance from college was on "Manhunt: the Search for America's Most Gorgeous Male Model." A couple of my cousins went to high school with Stacy Keibler.
ETA a former coworker was on the Mancaves decorating show a year or 2 ago. And another coworker's son had their wedding cake features on Ace of Cakes.
Also, not reality TV but my old co-worker was in a police lineup on a Law & Order episode. I nearly fell out of my chair when he popped up on my TV because I didn't know he did some acting on the side.
I know two wedding planners from Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?
If my family didn't move in middle school, I would have gone to high school with The Situation (he is a few yrs younger than me but we would have overlapped).

I know someone on Toddlers & Tiaras, which I've mentioned an embarrassing number of times here. My BFF was on a show about finding your Daisy Duke. My aunt was on Rescue 911. I also know someone who didn't make the cut for SYTYCD, but she did appear on the audition show.

These aren't reality tv, but...
There's a character based on my step-brother (even has the same first name) on an HBO series. And my step-brother also appears in the show and writes a little for it. If he wasn't such a asshole I'd think it was super cool.
An old acquaintance of mine is one of The Imagination Movers on the Disney Channel.
My aunt was Elvis' make-up artist at the end of his life.
My great-grandma cut Bonny and Clyde's hair while they were out-laws in Texas. Apparently they were quite affable when they weren't robbing banks.
Oh, and my uncle was a drummer for Lou Rawls at some point in the 70s.
Goodness I'm boring! I don't know any! Also sibil DH wants to know who ya know on love in the wild. He's watching it right now! Although I know several NHL players which Marie my find cool
Sadly, I sorta know the Honey Boo Boo family. the dad attempted to flirt with me when I worked at a gas station where they live before moving out of town.
Does it count that my sister called Maury trying to get on his show for a paternity test?

One of my best friends from hs was made over on the Sally Jessy Raphael show, I think so he could meet his then-boyfriend's mother.
I'm friends now with a couple who were on House Hunters.
And, not reality TV, but Eddie Vedder lives in my neighborhood, and has kids, and apparently is pretty much a fixture at kid stuff here. Like, last week I was talking with somebody who said he was "pitching" at her kid's tee-ball game the previous week. He was also, apparently, instrumental in fixing my H's new guy-BFF-ty friend up with his wife. So, I think it's just a matter of time before he's giving me uke lessons.
One of my close friends has worked on I Love New York, I Love Money, etc.
I know pretty much the whole production team who edits House Hunters! (Pie Town Productions)
My husband's coworker was on Wheel of Fortune.
A friend of mine went to high school with Lauren Conrad. That's like 2 degrees from LC. But the same friend's dad is the CEO of a major hockey team. Which... pretty much means this friend gets to hang out with celebs. Like Will Arnet during the LA King's stanley cup run. Pfft.
I have a friend who is currently on the show Take Me Out, which is a truly awful dating game show, hosted by George Lopez. There are 30 women who get to choose whether or not to go on a date with the male contestants. If they don't pick a guy, they get to stay on the show the following week. She's been on since the beginning of the season.
Uh, I've eaten at some restaurants of people on cooking shows, like Top Chef, Around the World in 80 plates, etc. Does that count?
Oh! My wedding officiant is a character actor. You don't know him from anywhere, though!
My friend (ok, it's really DH's friend) is friends with the dude who plays Drago in Game of Thrones. He was on one of the Stargates before that, and he played Conan the Barbarian in the recent movie. He's married to Lisa Bonet and my friend has hung out with them a bunch.
