i knew a guy who was on one of the first seasons of Big Brother - he went to a neighboring high school and hung out with our group a lot.... but other than that- no, thankfully, I don't.
Oh and Melissa Rauch of the Big Bang Theory and formerly of the VH1's Best Week Ever was my all time favorite waitress. When I lived in NYC a group of friends got together weekly at this bar on the Upper East Side and Melissa loved us for some reason (probably because we weren't the usually frat-boy tools that plagued that place) and so she'd hook us up big time on the check. To the point where it was ridiculous. I wish her all the success she so richly deserves. She's good people.

I know Melissa as well. She is a wonderful person, so very happy for her success.

Is her voice really that squeaky or does she play it up for the character?

Oh! Another not-reality tv connection.
I went to college with Conan O'Brien's cousin. Now, this was years before he had his own show... At the time, he was a writer on SNL, and she'd make us all sit and watch it on the show closest to St. Patrick's Day, because he'd always be on air, because he was a ginger. I think she was trying to fix him up with one or all of us. In retrospect, maybe we should have taken her up on it.
Also in college, I had a thing with the first cousin of a then-current SNL cast member.
I was in lawschool (small section) with Joe Schmo of the The Joe Schmo show. The show was filmed between our first and second years of law school. He dropped out after 1L.

Love!
In my First Amendment Rights class, I literally sat between Mama Cass' sister and Abbie Hoffman's daughter (Ilya, one of the coolest people I've ever known).
-A guy I went on to HS with was on some MTV dating show. - DW's niece was on an MTV show helping to make over some poor guy that couldn't get a date.
I think that's about all I've got. Oh wait! In grade school the father of one of my friends was on Wheel of Fortune. He did really well. And in college my bff was on the Price is Right and won the showcase showdown!
- I saw an old church friend on divorce court. - My H will be on wipeout at the end of the summer - An ex-coworker was on on the earlier seasons of Top Model
ETA: - a co-worker was just recently on Wheel of Fortune.
My coworker is married to Carla Hall from Top Chef and a former coworker from a retirement home (I worked on the wait staff, he was a chef) made it to the finals of his episode of Chopped.

WINNER! Every time we watch that I try to convince MH that he wants to be on it. He just laughs at me. I think he'd be good at it!

Oh, I forgot that the little brother of one of my college friends was the little boy that would do red carpet interviews/or any other segment saying horrible things on Punk'd. The older brother (the one I'm friends with) works on the Ellen show.

How far in advance do they do the actual filming?
I plan on busting out laughing every single time he gets his ass handed to him. Even more, we have been letting Z watch episodes and he is starting to "ouch", "ooh", "aww" and smack his leg laughing at the screen.
He did the filming in February and his episode airs Aug 30th.
H thought he would be great at it to. He says it's horrible. All of the platforms are slippery, the water is 20 degrees, stuff just flies at you from unexpected places and it's really hard to not wipe out. No shit, right?
He made it pretty far, so we get to see a lot of him. But that is all I am allowed to say.
My coworker is married to Carla Hall from Top Chef and a former coworker from a retirement home (I worked on the wait staff, he was a chef) made it to the finals of his episode of Chopped.
Carla! Hootie hoo! My favorite cheftestant ever. I am also way jealous of whomever it is that knows someone that was on Rock of Love. I haven't given up hope that I'll marry Bert someday. The only thing I have is that a friend of mine from high school was on Tim Gunn's makeover show. Although that's pretty cool. I want to have his gay-bies.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
An old co-worker was on The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal. She lived in Cali back in the 80's and 90's and was an aspiring actress. I guess she did game shows to bulk up her resume (she won a trip and a car!).

Two girls I went to HS with were on Monsters-In-Law. I was good friends with one of them...it was the girls who had the "feud" over the swimming competition. It was one of the first episodes.
I went to HS with a guy who made top 12 on AI.
I went to HS with a girl who was one of the wedding planners in the early seasons of Whose Wedding Is It Anyway.
My sister saw Pumpkin from Flava of Love at at bar in Bakersfield. That's all I've got.
ETA: No, I take that back. I shook Lars Ulrich's hand at a concert in SF and I saw Kirk Hamett in Golden Gate Park once.
OH! The Pumpkin thing reminds me that a friend of mine made out on a few occasions with Mr. Boston from I Love New York. And when she got a cold sore a few weeks later, for some reason she thought it would be a good idea to call up Love Line and tell them that she suspected a D-list celebrity had given her mouth herpes. And Mr. Boston's twin brother (whom she had met first) heard her on the radio.
And my SIL graduated from high school with Mr. Boston's older sister. I just can't get away from the skeez.
My coworker is married to Carla Hall from Top Chef and a former coworker from a retirement home (I worked on the wait staff, he was a chef) made it to the finals of his episode of Chopped.
I KNOW I saw Carla's husband on TV once. Probably when she was on all-stars. So that's awesome.
I would never want to be on Wipe Out, to whoever said that. I avoid things where I might smash my teeth in. I've spent good money on those!
Remember on Jay Leno how they used to do Jaywalking? A guy I worked on the radio station/radio exec staff with in college was on it. My college does an LA internship program and the apartments where the student housing is located is right down the street from NBC studios. So the producers were always like, "College students! Score!"
And speaking of, when I did the LA internship program we went to Price is Right. If you have a big enough group, you're guaranteed to have someone called up. My roommate at the time (we hated each other) got on the day we went and won a bunch of living room furniture and stuff. I also have a friend who was on it and won a car.
I worked with the sister of Stephanie Izard (from Top Chef) and she was a total B.
My brother's ex-girlfriend is on that shitty new reality show Glass House.
My family knows the drummer from The Black Keys. My parents got an invite to his wedding! I wish I had been, 'cause I'd totally go in hopes of meeting a rockstar for whom I can be a trophy wife.
Jennipea, are you talking about Tim Pawlenty? He fits "seems really nice," "former presidential candidate," and "possibly VP."
Yes :-) I think he also stopped in at a 4H meeting where my mom and sister are really involved. His niceness won't make me vote for him though if he does run for Pres/VP (unless the opponent is far worse of course).
Oh, and I thought of a couple more non-reality ones. If you know the zamboni song, one of the gym teachers at my middle school was a guitarist (bassist?) for the Gear Daddies. We watched the clip of him on Letterman back when he had long hair.. pretty funny. Also, golfer Tom Lehman is my aunt's cousin (dad's brother's wife, so not blood related, but still kinda cool).
I was friends in high school with Becky who is currently on MasterChef.
Was she as obnoxious in real life?
I was wondering the same thing.
All I've got is real TV, which I woudl think is different than most reality TV. Ryan Lochte the current hot thing in Olympic swimming went to HS with DH and I saw him a few times at our local YMCA. Our town is small. He was the star at the town Family Days parade a few years ago - being carted around on a golf cart and all.
