I hit post too soon, I was also going to add that I to have made stupid choices and regretted them later, everybody has - admit it or not. I have been known to let my DD go to a party when she "may" have still been contagious with strep, but she had looked forward to it for a month. It included a limo ride, and I didn't have the heart to keep her home. Still was bad decision, but it happens.
Oh, Papie I'm sorry you're not doing well right now.
I think it's all been said. This is how lice keeps being transmitted over and over. You know this.
I'm really curious about the other Mom's reaction and if you have her a chance to say no. That would be such a difficult position to be put in.
You know, I have to say, I'm not sure what I'd do if I was that other mom. David has his new BFF coming over in an hour and he's SO EXCITED. The other kid loves the Lego Movie so David asked if they could watch it, is wearing his new Lego Movie shirt today and he put together one of his Lego movie lego sets JUST FOR THIS PLAYDATE. lol. I'd so hate to be the bad guy if she showed up here in an hour and said her kid had lice, but is it okay? It definitely puts me in the position to be the bad guy by saying "no".
i have absolutely embraced the poop eater jokes, but now i live in fear that my story is going to get absorbed into the story about the woman who did it on purpose. you guys let me know when we need a frkls poop eating refresher!
Now. I know it was an accident, and you were tired or something. I forget how it goes.

so, seriously, that's what the mom who sent her 3 young daughters to stay with my mom for a week said ... that they had been treated and it was 'just' nits. Guess what happened? LICE, LIVE LICE. Ick.

Reading this made my mouth start doing that sweating thing that happens right before I vomit.

No, it doesn't HAPPEN. You took her and exposed other children ON PURPOSE.
My sister has a permanent heart condition that was brought on by a serious bout of strep when she was in elementary school.
You didn't have the heart to keep her home in order to keep other kids healthy and safe? You're a selfish asshole.
papie, this level of thoughtlessness and selfishness is not like you. I can imagine that you are overwhelmed, and I'm sorry for that. I hope that you get things figured out soon.
If you need a "lice fairy", my guess is that shit is pretty bad.
I said it in the other thread and I"ll say it here. If this little girl will be at your party on Saturday, you're just throwing your money out the window with the lice fairy tomorrow.
I was on the old nest, but when the whole board changeover thing happened I guess I just didn't come over. I had my daughter around then so I was busy and just never had time to post.
And no, I am not doing well, but this is beyond the point, is it?
I will pay the lice fairy if they catch it. Omg. I don't know what I was thinking. But the hats and headband and awareness and buns should prevent this, no???
I am leaving to pick her up now. I am sure they played outside too the while time.
But FFS we did not contaminate the chiro's office! Our hair is tied up and the baby doesn't have any.
I am really sorry you're struggling. I think one day you will look back on this and go "OMFG I cannot believe I did that" because you're in a fog right now. Can you reach out and get some help?
In terms of transmission, the other little girl absolutely could catch it even if your daughter's hair was up. Lice is easily spread among kids (or yours wouldn't have gotten them). When this was going through Lu's school, I learned from the lice lady (lol) that it's easy to spread when you just have nits because you often don't even see them and they're sticky little fuckers.
Same deal with the chiro's office. Even if your hair is up, it came into contact with the table, possible a chair, etc. If you didn't let them know you have lice, I would call them so they can take some prevention measures.
Hang in there.
What did the louse say to the nit?
Ok, I'm done now. I've just never had lice, so I'm all excited.

Oh fuck this. I get strep very easily. And it's really awful when I do and fucking expensive because I a) can't take penicillin and b) always end up with a yeast infection from the antibiotics.

Yes, that would suck. That's why showing up on someone's doorstep all "btw she has lice, that's cool with you, right? ok gotta go" is supremely shitty. But if you would rather deal with lice than a kid who's upset for a little bit, then knock yourself out, lol.
I'm not a badass. I'm just not mean to people who are going through bad times.
OMG, we all know and love Papie, as was said earlier, she knew what would happen when she posted this! Most people are just having fun. You're not some saviour. lol
Telling her she's selfish and awful is "having fun"?
