So I have an issue that would have been more at home on the Poop and Farts board, lol. So embarrassing, but whatever...
So, for the past, I don't know, maybe 4 or so months, I've have had a really itchy butthole. Like, not on the inside, just right on the outside. I have no idea why this one particular spot gets so itchy. It drives me crazy. I guess I want to ask my doc about it, but I just can't imagine saying "butthole" to a doctor, lol.
However, saying, anus, rectum, whatever...all sounds so terrible.
I get that they hear and see it all, so my issues are probably not that crazy, but damn, it is embarrassing to think about. LOL
There's a radio spot here right now about IBS and it's all "You tell your doctor about everything else, why not tell him about your poop too? It's okay, they're used to it." Itchy butt happens. Tell your doc. :-)
my doctor needs to earn those dolla dolla bills. I'm not gonna make it easy for him either. I'm kinda confrontational though, so there's that. We met once? Let me tell you about how prozac makes me unable to orgasm and that doesn't work for my lifestyle.
My advice would be to start out by saying your butt or bottom itches if you're comfortable with saying that.
Then, I'm sure your doctor will probably try to get you to pin point exactly where it itches and when it happens.
Then you can just say at the opening if you don't want to say butthole, rectum, etc.
Also you're doctor might offer the word up for you and you can just say yes or no. I know I try to do that with a patient if it's a more embarrassing complaint, trying to not make the person feel too embarrassed.

I go all out when talking to my drs. But I have some really cool drs and I've had some really weird injuries, sickness, and ailments.
Don't feel embarrassed when you talk to your dr about it. And if you still feel weird about it just think of this.
At 26 years old I made my dr look at my booty hole because I was convinced I had pin worms and then i proceeded to sleep with tape on my butthole for a week just in case (that's how google told me you would know for sure)
That's about as embarrassing as it gets and yes I did tell my dr this at my follow up.
So a little butthole itch is probably nothing compared to what your dr has seen, heard, looked at that day lol
My husband just recently told me that his was itchy. He only told me because he developed hemorrhoids. He was like wow, I wonder if this is related to the itchy butthole I've had for a year. I was like...excuse me?
