My one cat is a very stressed out cat, we've treat Feliway and other pheromone treatments but she always seems to get stress-induced bladder infections. If she sees a dog outside her window or if it storms she freaks out, goes into her hidey hole but the next day or the day after she will have a UTI and is just miserable for 4-5 days. We keep taking her to the Vets- they have ruled out bacterial UTIs and stones/crystals. They suggested switching her over to a complete wet food diet (currently she is eating Wellness indoor formula dry food in the morning and wet food in the evening) and feeding her Dasuquin supplements with her food. It's meant for joint health in pets but it was found to help bladder health. Has anyone else fed their cats this supplement specifically for bladder health or have any other ideas for us to try? She's been like this (stressed out a lot) since we adopted her 4 years ago- she's also been on kitty Prozac- it helps but I feel bad b/c it turns her into a little zombie kitty and she's not "with it" when she's on it.
We've used Cosequin for similar bladder issues -- I think Dasuquin is the newer version, but the same concept. My cat has issues with change, like travel or house guests, so we'd give it before and during any times that were likely to be stressful. It definitely seems to help.
The other thing I do, which may not work for all cats, is to give extra water by medicine dropper. It's a 10 mL dropper and my cat for some reason is willing to let me drip it down his throat once or twice a day if I notice anything weird -- slight litterbox differences, behavior weirdness, pretty much anything. It seems to just help keep the urine flowing better.
I started giving my kitties Dasuquin just this week because of bladder/urinary issues in one of them. My boy's issue is urethral spasms and interstitial cystitis. We started a new diet (Hill's Prescription c/d formula) to try and reduce/dissolve any stones or crystals in the bladder, and the vet recommended the Dasuquin to help strengthen the bladder wall.
My vet also had available another formula for stress/anxiety, which might be something to look into? I think it was the same brand, but I'm not certain. Poor kitty, I hope you find something that works.

We tried Cosequin, we tried wet food, we tried collars, we tried like everything.
In the end, what worked was switching to a frozen raw diet (Primal brand) and letting him outdoors in our full fenced backyard (he cannot escape; he can't jump high enough).
Our boy was dxed with Feline Interstitial Cystitis. We were thisclose to putting him down; we'd even made an appointment because he was so miserable all the time. When we decided to let him have the best last week of life ever, we started feeding raw and letting him outside, and it was like a miracle. Quite the turnaround. It's been two years since we started this regimen and not one problem since.
