I have four cats, their ages range from 5-10. In the last two years we've spent almost $5,000 in vet bills due to various issues my cats have. We have an emergency fund but I feel like they always have some sort of issue so we are constantly draining the account. Does anyone have any suggestions for pet insurance that they recommend? I don't know if you could get a discount or something for the more pets you add on to it. A multi cat discount!

I use Embrace for my 3 cats, about $40 total per month for my 6, 3, and 2 year old cat (I think it will be $52 when I add my new kitten). It increases with age, and you can choose the deductible and reimbursement % level. There is a multi-pet discount.
When you compare insurance companies pay attention to the deductible- some companies have a per-incident deductible (not good), while others are per pet or per year (embrace has a deductible per pet, per year). All pet insurance companies that I looked at exclude preexisting conditions and you usually have to pay the vet up front before the insurance company will reimburse you.

we have Healthy Paws for our Great Pyrenees. she's 16 months and we pay $55/month (cost will depend on where you live, too). they have different levels of percentage covered and deductibles, no caps or maximums, they cover congenital/hereditary issues, lifetime continuous coverage until cancelled (some companies are shady - they require you to renew every year and whatever conditions your pet may have from the previous year now become pre-existing). they had the most comprehensive coverage for what we were looking for.
