I found it very difficult to sleep last night, thinking about how today might go (and I'm sure the lack of sleep won't help my blood pressure for the appointment). We have our first daycare visit this morning, then the anatomy scan and then the 20 week appointment.
I guess it's because it still doesn't seem quite real, in spite of the fact that we had two 1st tri ultrasounds and we've heard the heartbeat a few times. I haven't really felt movement yet (I mean, I think I have, but it's really light so I have to be laying really still to notice it), and the natural worrier in me knows that there's so much stuff they're looking for on this scan. And I'm scheduled to fly to Russia in a few days, so if there are any issues that require follow-up, we're looking at either a several weeks wait or cancelling my research trip.
Blergh. No point to this. Just hoping that if I typed it out, I could then focus on something productive for the rest of the morning!<object width="1" height="1" id="plugin0" type="application/x-dgnria" style="position: absolute; z-index: 1000;"><param name="tabId" value="{30B3D62E-9A51-4410-91E1-BD8184539A26}"></object>
Good luck at your scan & appointment! The 20 week one made it seem very real to me, having an ultrasound tech pointing out specific body parts made me realize there was actually a baby growing in there.
Thanks everyone! I will update after the appointment. And I'm assuming the exorbitant daycare rates and my two-page list of questions for that visit will distract me from worrying about the A/S for a while.
Everything will go great at the scan and appointment.
Now, tell me more about your research.....
I study contemporary Russian theatre (working on my PhD), so it's basically a three-week trip to see as much theatre as humanly possible. Plus some archive time and a playwriting festival. I was there last year for the same reason, and can't wait to go back. <object width="1" height="1" id="plugin0" type="application/x-dgnria" style="position: absolute; z-index: 1000;"><param name="tabId" value="{30B3D62E-9A51-4410-91E1-BD8184539A26}"></object>
Update: All looked healthy and normal on the anatomy scan! But..... Baby did not cooperate and u/s tech would not venture a guess as to boy or girl. She did say that I have an anterior placenta, which explains why I haven't felt much yet.

Must be anterior placenta day! Sorry the baby didn't cooperate, but I am glad everything looks normal and healthy!
