1. P was in the Rhino classroom. 2. I was asked if she could move to the Zebra class with two of her friends, told it was an older environment. I said fine. 3. Zebra teacher turned out to be a bitch, one friend left, the other never comes the school, the ratio of boys to girls is ridic, P is miserable. I finally call yesterday and ask to have her move back to Zebra. 4. I am told Rhino is full, but there is the Tiger classroom available. Tiger class kids are younger than her, but it's peaceful, and the teachers are more compassionate. That's fine, she will start with a few hours Wed, and a fuller day Thurs.
So this is where we are. Thanks for following.
So the Rhino teacher stops me when I come in and asks me why I asked to have P moved in the first place. Um, no. The asst. director asked me.
Then she asks why I didn't ask to have her moved back. Um, I did, that's what she wants more than anything. They said you were full. No we aren't, and P is no problem. We exchange a look, and she says she will talk to them tomorrow and see what the issue is.
Then, I go in her new Tiger class, teacher says she had a fine day, but that the Zebra teacher wouldn't give up her napper because the move wasn't permanent? Um. Yes it was. I recount the conversation with the Rhino teacher to the Tiger teacher, and she says no, Rhino's aren't full. I thank her profusely.
WTF do I do now? I don't have many options, so before you go all, pull her out, the public schools here suck, I really want her to go to K at this school, and it's close to home and work.

Just bring her to the Rhino room in the morning. If anyone asks just tell them that "someone" said she was now in Rhino again. But serious? WTF? Is rhino full or not? If not, why were you told it was? And if it is, why are they now saying it's not? I would sit down with whomever is in charge, tell them you want her back in Rhino, permanently. Then something needs to be in writing to give to the teachers involved so everyone is on the same page. What a cluster. Sorry you have to jump through hoops, here.

I would hate to put the Rhino teacher in the middle, but I would go back to the Asst. Director and ask what gives. Just be direct and say that you want a full explanation. That's messed up. Sorry.

Oh man, I would be rip roaring mad. Since you want to keep her there, you'll have to take a deep breath and go in there all calm and stuff. Call tomorrow and set up a meeting with whoever you need to meet with (assist. director or director) and politely call them on their bullshit and get her either into Rhino or Tiger.
Now, it is possible that the Rhino room doesn't appear to be full because they are leaving an opening for someone from an even younger room and the classroom teacher just doesn't know about it.
The old center I worked at would occasionally move kiddos before they were truly ready because we needed to move someone else in to make room for a little one way down the line.
I'd see if I could the key players from previous conversation in the same place at the same time, then say you want to be in Rhino, is there some reason why you can't be?
Our daycare moves the kids in groups, so my son has been in three different classrooms but always with the same core group of kids. I'd be pissed too if they started to fuck around with that too much.
