I am in research mode right now, and ideally I would really like to find one magic double stroller that I can use with the infant seats but also doesn't weigh a ton, folds easily, and then we can use it until the babies are done needing a stroller. But it seems a lot of the ones I like for long term use, seem to not allow two infant seats. Am I looking for some kind of unicorn of a stroller that doesn't exist? Should i break down and do a SNG and then a second stroller for long term?
I think the Bumbleride Indie Twin now accepts 2 car seats. I looked at an older version and thought it pushed so great but it was out of my budget. Also I don't know how it folds. It may not be ideal for the car seat phase if it folds inconveniently, but I don't know. I know some twin moms who used the kolcraft contours but that was a lot harder to push than a SBS. It's much cheaper than the Indie Twin though. Frame/DSNG types are just so easy and light it's hard to pass them up IMO. I loved my City Mini Double but it only takes 1 car seat. (I think) ETA I also had a City Select which I liked for a time but it did not work all the way until I was done with strollers. There wasn't enough room in the back.
We also have a Graco Odyssey Ready 2 Grow. It worked with two infant seats (we had the matching Graco seats) and they can still both sit in it now. I don't love it because it's not as easy to handle and it's not as comfortable.

City mini double was the one I was lusting after But you are right, it only takes one infant seat. I think the City Select takes two, but with all kinds of add-ons it would be as much as the mini and a SNG type frame.
We did the SnG until they were 6 months and now we use the BOB Dualie which we bought used at Once Upon a Child. I never heard of using infant seats with that as was mentioned? I wouldn't think you could because I don't see how it would be possible but I could definitely be missing something! We like the BOB a lot so far.

Don't try to find a stroller that will hold the infant seats. The ones that do usually require adapters that end up costing more than a DSNG would, especially if you can find one on CL. I bought mine on CL for $30 and sold it for the same when the girls started using our double citi mini.
I saw this posted somewhere. I haven't seen one in person, but it looks amazing. If my girls weren't so big I would get one in a heartbeat.
Right now we have a Double City Mini and a Maclaren double umbrella.
I don't love the DCM as much as everyone else. It is super sturdy and rides really nicely. The sunshades are great and it is easy to fold. BUT it doesn't lock folded which is a huge pain. So unless you strap it closed with the velcro strap you have to lay it flat when it's folded and it takes up the whole floor space in the back of my SUV. So we only use it for trips like the zoo or a street fair when we know we'll be walking outside a lot.
For day to day running errands and such I use the double umbrella. It is lighter, easy to fold and takes up way less space in the car. But you can't steer it with one hand, it's harder to get in and out of doors, and it doesn't have a belly bar or snack tray which sucks.
My plan is to use double snap n go for car seats, and then in the spring buy a BOB double which won't have car seats. I already got my SNG at a consignment sale for $40. I know the swap pages around my town always have them for cheap. A friend of mine did this with her twins and loved how it worked out. The SNG is kind of big IMO but it's so easy to fold out and back. And I was very much wanting a side by side jogging stroller for our main one when they're big enough. I don't care for tandem.
-I also debated getting the Baby trend double jogger since it's a lot cheaper but so many on MMM have recommended BOB that I think it's worth the extra cost.

Ok, I found a DSNG frame on my craigslist for $25. Can't complain about that. Thanks for the advice, now I can figure out which double will work best for us down the line! I appreciate the suggestions!
The city select does allow two infant seats. It is pricey but I absolutely love it. But I also have a toddler so the numerous configurations are great for me because I sometimes wear one baby and use the stroller for one baby and j. I can't say enough great things about it.
I used the snap and go while mine were infants and moved them to the City Select. I kept googling the CS and one day saw it on amazon for $450 inc the double attachment. So, still very pricy but much better that it could have been. I like it so far, but when we face the out, the back kiddos feet are a little squished. I also have a side by side jogger that we haven't used yet. I do like having the snap and go for quick errands around town and stuff like that and usually just keep it in my car.
So, I may have a stroller problem but that may help you
I never had a SNG. I used my Bumbleride Indie Twin from day one. I never bothered with car seat adapters since the seats recline all the way flat and the boys could safely be in them from the start. I didnt buy the carrycots even though they were adorable. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stroller. The huge basket, the zippered pockets on the canopies that hold my phone, keys, wallet, snacks, etc. are awesome. I can run with it and do. It is so easy to push even one handed and maneuvers over any surface. It fits through every doorway I have encountered and on the bus and subway here. The materials are super high quality and eco friendly. Honestly, I rave about it to anyone who asks Only downside is that the seats don't face you (but have a window flap) but the kids won't want to face you at around 6 months anyway.
I have a Bugaboo Donkey. I hate it. Its stupid. It doesn't turn well, it feels cheap compared to the Bumbleride, its super pricey for basically no accessories, the boy slearned to take the belly bar off within days, its wide. Its not easy to lift onto the train. The basket is not big at all.
I have a single Orbit with a ride on board that we take with us when we travel. I like this stroller as well but it isn't for infant twins.
I just bought an Uppababy Vista (See? Stroller addict) with a ride on board and love it. The boys are old enough now to stand on one and not get off. The basket is big, the seat is high and faces front and back, well made, and folds really easily. I have heard of people using it with the rumple seat with older twins, but I wasn't a fan of that because I couldn't see the twin in the rumple seat.
And my IL's house, we have a Joovy double. Its not quite an umbrella (or maybe it is?) but not a super fancy stroller either. The seats are huge and there is a lot of storage. The wheels aren't amazing but I was impressed by the stroller.
Are you part of a twin mom group? There is a national club (Mothers of Multiples) with local chapters. They have online forums where I bet you can find a SNG or a used stroller if you want to check them out.
fryjack2, I have a stroller problem too, at least I did with DD. I had a bugaboo cameleon, uppababy Vista, Bob, Maclaren Albert Thurston Ryder, and a city mini for my mom. oh and the SNG I borrowed from a friend in the beginning.
I'm going to try not be so crazy this time lol. I've definitely ruled out the Donkey. The Bob double, the city select double, city mini double and the Bumbleride Indie twin are currently on my list. I might have to get the bumbleride indie twin. It's so so gorgeous. They're not as popular here as Bob's, which are super easy to come second hand.
We have the City Mini Double. We used it very early on (from when they were just a couple of months old) by reclining the seats all the way back so they lay flat, and then we put the Bobby Nest Noggins in there to help keep them in place (along with the harness, of course). It pushes very easily and folds up easily. It stays at my IL's house for the most part because they live a mile from the beach and a bunch of parks, so most of the walks are done there. I've used it a couple of times at stores and it works great for that too.
I have a double snap n go and a double City Mini. I love, love, love my City Mini! I was actually surprised how little I use my snap n go. I still use it occasionally to go to the grocery store but I find it very cumbersome and heavy compared to the city mini. Now that my twins are 7 months I almost exclusively use it over the DSNG. Honestly, I would buy both. Try to find a used DSNG on Craigslist as you can always sell afterwards.
I think the snap and go was a great investment and so damn easy. There is no perfect stroller - if you can afford it get the SNG and then something for later on.
fryjack2 and others. Do we think $350 is a decent price for a 2011 Bumbleride Indie Twin barely used and in great condition? That's about what double bobs go for around here.

In excellent shape and the tires are great? Yes. Maybe a touch high but that's the price I see here when they do get sold used.
I could never ask that much for my 2012 stroller because its been very well loved.

I would pay that. I'm not sure if that year still lets you do 2 car seats, or if you're even looking for that, but that's the only thing I'd point out. It's a great stroller.

I think they do but maybe I'll take my car seats with me to verify. And it's that pretty green/blue color I love!
Ugh. Double strollers are the bane of my existence! I have the stroll air double which is a HUGE pain to fold and unfold so I got a City Select from a consignment store which didn't ride the well in my opinion.
My mom has the bob which I think is the best of the three for sure!

We loved having a DSNG for the first 6 months and a City Mini double after that. Since the DSNG is so inexpensive and holds resale value well, it doesn't cost that much and I think in the long run it's easier than trying to find one stroller that does all modes well.
