Went back to work Monday no problem.
This exactly. He probably could have done more but I gave him the weekend off as a reward for taking one for the team.

My husband took the day off (Friday) and then took the whole following week off (per doctor's orders) due to all the heavy lifting he does for work (he builds valves for power plants). He went out on short term disability. He was back to himself by Tuesday. My BIL works in an office and was back to work Tuesday (procedure done Friday).
My brother had his done after work one Thursday and was back in the office the next day. He's a urologist so his partner did it, lol. He said he probably should have taken the next day off but it was a Friday so it was okay.

My DH had it done on a Friday morning. He spent all day Friday laying in bed watching tv with ice packs and by Saturday he was able to resume his normal leisurely weekend pace. He took Monday off from work, too, just because he has plenty of sick leave. If he'd had to go back on Monday (desk job) he could have.

DH just had his done a couple weeks ago. They did it Friday around noon. He was very sore through Sunday. I bought 3 bags of frozen peas and we rotated them. He took the oxy pain med only twice so he could sleep well. He went back to work Monday but was still tender for about a week. I would say by day 10 he was back to normal (bruising gone, no tenderness).

DH works a physical job so he took the week off per his doctor who only did surgeries on Fridays. We stocked up on a few bags of frozen peas and he pretty much spent the entire weekend on a spare boppy with his ice, playing video games. His doctor reiterated to me to make sure he didn't do the "Well I feel great, back to normal activities!" after a day or two because the swelling is horrendous if they push too hard.
