Drove a car for the first time in 2+ months! And it wasn't scary at all! I broke my left ankle, so there was no real reason I couldn't drive, but since I was non weight-bearing for the first seven weeks, the logistics of getting my knee scooter in and out of the car were challenging. So my mom or H just drove me everywhere. Now I can get around better but still can't carry the baby, so I don't get out much.
Today I had a doctor's appointment and left M at home with my mom and a bottle of pumped milk. I drove myself, crutched into the clinic, and drove myself home. I never thought I would be so thrilled to go to the doctor. LOL
Yesterday I did my first load of laundry in 2+ months. Also disproportionately exciting!
Yay! Great progress! How are you doing with your Coumadin?
Fine so far, thanks for asking! INR was 2.7 on Monday, which NP thought was high for only five days in, so she cut my dose a little bit. Was 2.2 today.
I'm nervous about the Vitamin K thing. Because of my injury, I mostly just eat whatever H and my mom bring me, so my diet has been a little haphazard. I only had one salad since my appointment on Monday, so apparently I've now set a precedent. The NP acted like it would be a dire situation if I started eating four salads a week.
I got to stop the Lovenox after Monday, which was very welcome news. The injections were leaving little bruises all over my belly!

Don't stress about your INR. If you increase your greens intake a bit, they'll up your dose a bit. Not a huge deal. I was low one appt so we upped my dose and the next appt, my INR was like 5. My doc didn't freak. And I was below therapeutic levels for weeks and it wasn't an emergency.

Ok, the NP I saw today was kind of rude, so she got me all worked up. I won't worry too much
