I'd go with the black, if only to mitigate all the brown. It looks like you have a bit of black already but brown floors, brown window coverings...go with the black so it doesn't all blend together.
Brown with an area rug under it. The table in your inspiration pic really grabs your attention because the rug under it beaks up all the wood tones from the furniture and floors.
Beautiful house! I vote black just to break up all of the brown. I'd also introduce some patterned fabric to give it some interest and color. Maybe chair cushions and a matching roman shade (or faux roman shade) on the kitchen window and a rug. I have a black table very similar to that one and red farmhouse chairs from pottery barn.
I would go with the brown and bring in color with rug, curtains, chairs, - maybe even paint the one wood wall? Black is more trendy and brown is timelss.

Your house is really nice but it's.so.much.brown.
I'm not sure any of the colors really work. Whatever you decide, I'd do upholstered chairs in a lighter color or pattern to balance out all the brown wood.
I found a Pier One that had the black table today, and I HATED the finish. It was super shiny on the table top and there were already a lot of marking. DH doesn't like the cream and brown table, so we are getting the brown table this weekend. I am going to think about an area rug.
If you do a rug, think about buying an indoor/outdoor rug (one the nice rug-looking ones, not the plasticky ones). They clean up really easily.

I think the brown will look nice! I still think the area rug is the best way to break things up, but if you don't like the idea...what about patterned chair cushions, keeping colorful placemats out, or adding a curtain to the kitchen window?
