I ran out of primer this morning and need to find something before tomorrow.
I had been using Smashbox primer and it was okay. I didn't love it but didn't hate it... some days it just seemed like it didn't work that well. I've tried Bare Minerals in the past and wasn't a huge fan.
Ideally I'm looking for something that I could find in a JC Penny Sephora or Ulta as I don't want to travel all the way to the big Sephora. I just MUFE foundation, if that matters. So what is your favorite primer?
I use that BB cream that I posted about below, and I haven't had any need for primer. Before I used that, I didn't really use a primer because my skin is oily, so I just relied on my moisturizer.
Smashbox is my favorite. I use the green tinted one to combat my red undertones. It's very light in texture.
I tried the green one but wasn't a huge fan so have been using the clear version. As I said, it is okay. I like it more than the Bare Minerals one but am not absolutely in love.
It is a never ending battle with my skin. It is extremely acne prone so I use acne medication but it dries out my skin, so when I do use moisturizer then I get more breakouts so I'm not sure what to do.
I use the "Light" Smashbox. But more often I skip foundation all together to keep my skin looking better.
My derm suggested Cereve cleanser and lotion and that works great, but I ultimately had to get a prescription acne med. I have also been on antibiotics for my skin which help greatly.
I use MUFE, they have shades to combat undertones. I really like it, but if you happen to get it a little too close to your mouth, and then, say, lick your lips, it tastes n-a-s-t-y. I also have a Laura Mercier sample, the oil-free, and I think that's what I'll be getting next...unless I'm swayed by the VitaZing, it's so tempting.

When I bother to use a primer (usually only for photographs or when I'm going to have to look "done" for much longer than usual), I use the Smashbox one that you've already used.
If you just want a cheap substitute you can pick up quickly, I remember reading (probably somewhere on TN) that the Monistat Anti-Chafing gel (http://www.amazon.com/Monistat-Soothing-Powder-Gel-1-5-Ounce-Containers/dp/B000FKLKXQ) is pretty much exactly the same as the Smashbox primer. And you could pick that up at Target :-)
I have the chafing gel, but I use it for its intended purpose -- I haven't tried it on my face!
I LOVED the Smashbox bronzing primer, but I think it's discontinued. =( Seems like they replaced it with the luminizing primer, but I haven't tried it yet. I also liked the regular Lancome primer.
