We left our entire diaper bag in a parking lot today (put it down on the ground I guess and forgot to put it in the car?no idea how this happened) after a day at the bay, and my iphone and wallet and everything is in there. Also the house we are in escrow on has a shitload of things wrong w/ it including the entire roof needing to be replaced. We are basically ready to walk, and can't seem to get a straight answer out of the seller wether they will entertain replacing the whole thing themselves - we sure as hell aren't going to pay for it. They wanted to get another quote by their own contractor. F that.
Max is screaming that he wants his Mommy while my Mom is bathing him. He still hates baths. I am crying on and off myself and just want to hide in my bed. My Mom ate my last awesome ice cream treat (magnum dark chocolate raspberry) which was honestly the only thing that was going to make me feel better today.
Also - the bachelorette weekend for one of my bffs is next weekend and I literally have no valid picture ID right now, no license, no valid passport, nothing. IDK how I am going to fly to SF. Good times.
I am so sorry! That is absolutely awful! Maybe whoever took it will figure out how to contact you and return it? I have one of those ice cream bars here that I wish I could drop off at your house. Hugs!
OMG you guys - guess what? Some amazing person called an hour ago and THEY HAVE THE BAG!!! Bad news is I had already erased the iphone - but yay, not having to pay for another phone and yay ID and cards (although I already canceled most of them! LOL)
I am breathing a big sigh of relief right now. H drove downtown to grab it from this awesome person. We're giving them $40 cash for being nice people. I wish I could give more but we're strapped after losing over $600 on that house so far. I think we're gonna call it quits on the house... we're putting together our "wishlist" of shitty shit for them to fix --- but they prob wont... which is fine bc this house is starting feel like this:
Glad you got your bag back. We walked from the first house we were in escrow with too and we are SO THANKFUL we did! We ended up in such a better house. I hope the same goes for you if this isn't the one!

Oooh - story? Seriously, I need some hair pats right now bc I feel like I am being way too emotional about it! It doesn't help that the market here is really funky rt now - there's also just nothing out there that is as good or better than this, as much of a dump as it's feeling like (of course if they miraculously pay for a brand new roof and everything else we ask for (ha!) then maybe I will be singing a different tune...)
That is totally awful re: your ID: in Canada you can sometimes get a rush passport if you need it - 48 hours or something, but you have to have a birth certificate and particular documents. Maybe that would work for you? Everything else is just shitty Sorry for you
ETA: I obviously posted before reading the thread.

Well at the inspection we found out that the home had a ton of structural issues and we are young and didn't have the money to turn around and put in 20-40k into the house. We also learned that things like the air conditioner were not new like the owner claimed. Instead he added a new piece like a coil and claimed the whole damn thing as new. We walked away, heck we ran away, which was devastating to me because I loved the house and had so many plans for it. Neighbors had already started to introduce themselves! Anyways, about two weeks later we got our escrow money back and turned around and went and built a brand new house for $30k less! If your gut tells you to run then run, IMO. There is more out there. Just give it time!

That sounds really crappy... I'm glad you got your bag back! And I agree with everyone else... If your gut says run, run fast. We walked away from a house a few years ago... It sucked and I cried for a week., but in the end I'm so glad we did. I got my BFP for Gavin a month later (surprise!). The house would have instantly been too small for us in addition to the issues it already had. You'll find another that you love!
