I'm no help because I use PedEgg. When I remember to use something. Mine are awful - I get terrible looks from pedicurists every 3-4 weeks. I've been told to use baby oil on them every day. I haven't done it yet, but it's worth a try. Sorry I don't have a suggestion for a tool.

I don't have any recs for a file but use Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Cream. It is amazing. I have awful heels and after just three uses and some light heel filing, they are much improved.
The stuff is pretty greasy so I put it on at night and wear socks until the dries but honestly, it is a miracle cream.
Use those in the shower toward the end so your feet have time to soak up some moisture. Right after a shower I slather a shit ton of Vaseline all over my feet and put on cotton socks for a few hours. Helps me a ton.
it's amazing. It's like a really thick cream with scrubbies in it. To get rid of the dead skin before "maintenance" - try a beauty supply store for a callous removal cream. You basically apply it with gloves, put baggies over your feet for like 5-10 minutes and then you scrub the piss out of them with a pumice stone. You can do this every day for a few days to get to a maintenance type stage - then use the body shop stuff with a pumice to maintain.
Avon's Cracked Heel Cream for the bad cracks and their Callous Cream for daily lotion
p.s I don't sell Avon but I do buy their stuff ALL the time and this stuff works great for my H's disgusting feet!
I agree with this. I use the Avon foot works cracked heel relief. If I haven't been keeping up with it and my heels are really bad, I use that and in 2 or 3 days they are pretty much perfect. I apply it at night before I go to bed and notice a huge difference the next morning.
I do a scrub or soak them in bath salts first, then use a pumice stone and follow with a foot butter (heavier than cream) and put my feet in cotton socks while it soaks in.
I do the pumice daily. I bought one of those shaver things, but I can't figure out how to use it. Maybe I'm a moron or the razor blade in it scares me too much, IDK.
Pumice stone and coconut oil. Cheap and effective. I put on the coconut oil at night and wear it with socks around the house. I take the socks off to sleep (too hot) and I have nice soft feet in the a.m..

I like this idea. I love cheap.
I derped out on the whole socks/moisture thing, then pumice the next day. Makes sense.
Sometimes I do, but usually I take a shower after getting home from work so I just do it then and keep the socks on til bedtime. By that time its pretty much all soaked into my skin. If not, just wipe it off.

I used to have the too hot to sleep with socks on problem so I cut the socks in the middle so there is just enough to cover your heel and half of your foot. It looks silly but keeps my feet cool when I wear them at night over my foot cream.
I found some Alba Botanica Un-Petroleum jelly online. I do love Butter of London's nailpolishes. So nice.
*sigh* i know. someone said that on F&B, wait S&B? whatever.
anyway, i thought the same too scotty. but it's worth it.
i wear flerps & sandals all the time. i've tried practically everything- ped egg, different lotions, creams, socks on at night w/ stuff on, the gripe tape on the mr's skateboard (shut up i was disparate!), and so on.
They sell a product called Blue Cross cuticule remover. You can soak your feet in it for a few minutes and then use a pumice stone. That should get a lot of it off.
A key to having non yucky heels is to mositurize. Do you put lotion on your feet each day when you put body lotion on?
