First, let me say I am not a hater. I think lots of their dresses and clothes are cute for dress-up. I have boys, but I am sure I would dress a little girl up on the regular too. BUT. There is one mom in a regular playgroup I go to and her kid is decked out in MJ every single week to the 9s. And I am pretty sure the mom also wears MJ last week also (she sells it too of course). Last week she had on a tunic/dress (def long enough to be a dress) that was cute. With ruffly pantaloons AND ruffly knee socks. I am pretty sure I would hate this as a kid!

I really do not like these outfits. MAYBE one ruffly dress with normal tights/socks/everything else is OK, but usually it's all worn together and the little girl ends up looking like a circus clown.

OK, I read this as what the MOM wore. Bahahahaha. NO.

I am a hater. A FB friend sells it and decks her two girls out in it. The patterns look terrible together and the circus clown pants are hideous. I can't believe they are able to sell that stuff at the price they sell it at, and that they've got people putting their kids in it exclusively. I saw a dress at Children's Place that was obviously trying to follow the same deign. No. Just no.

You should amend your post title with a random . or something in the name. Last time this topic came up the crazy moms found the post via Google and came to convince us they were cute and we were bullies.
I am a hater. If I wanted to dress my kid up as a homeless clown, I could do it for a lot less than that crap. It's almost like someone was like "Let's make the most hideous, fucked-up clothes possible, and then see how much stupid suburban housewives will pay for them!" Like it's an elaborate practical joke or something. People never cease to amaze me.
I love some MJ and hate some of it. My daughter has a lot of it. But MJ can easily and quickly go all wrong. My daughter likes to dress herself and one of her favorite outfits is an MJ dress, with an MJ skirt. It's hilariously bad, and she likes to wear it with knee socks and tennis shoes. Anyway, the first time she put it on, I took a picture of her in it and sent it to my husband. He responded "oh she's so cute." I asked if he noticed how insane her outfit was, and he said "No, it looked like standard Matilda Jane to me..." He totally wasn't even busting my balls about it like he usually does, he really thought it was a regular MJ outfit.
Typically, though, I like to think that I don't choose the homeless clown outfits for her, but maybe I do?
she is adorable eclaires My DD would love those clothes, she is a little fashionista. She's rocking a lot of hand me downs lately but this is something that she would put together!
I love a lot of it, but it can quickly go wrong. I prefer Persnickity and mustard pie which have the same kind of dress/ruffled pants look. But these are not weekday play clothes, these are wedding/church/special occasion outfits.

I think MJ was really cute 5-6 years ago. It was cute and different and not so crazy. Now it is just too much. Some of the separates are way cute, but when people just start piling all of the things on their kid, it is too much. That being said, a child in my class years ago had on a Daydream Believers MJ t-shirt that I wish I would have picked up, but at the time it wasn't on my radar.

My DD wears quite a bit of MJC, but it can definitely get out of hand if you layer like some people do. We like to keep it simple, and don't buy the outfits with 10 fabrics in one shirt. My daughter loves the clothes because they are comfortable and she is complimented often when we are out and about. I totally understand that it isn't for everyone though.

This? This is the best of MJ! She is adorable and I love the slight boho patterns and small ruffles. They should pay you to have her wear their clothes. Seriously. It is when you get into the BIG ruffled pantaloons all down the leg in the mismatched patterns that I start to die a little. But you can keep on keeping on bc she is too cute. Please just do not dress yourself to match
I have 4 girls & my DD1 wore a lot of it as a toddler/preschooler. She's almost 10 & has refused to wear any of it for years. DD2 is 7 will wear the pants/shirts that I've bought (for DD1) & they are pretty low key. I don't buy it anymore & haven't in a couple years...I liked it back then, but not really anymore. I have no desire to buy any more for DD3 (5) & DD4 (1yr old). When you sell it, you get good discounts...she's advertising & it totally makes sense her kid & her wear it a lot. The women I know that are "trunk keepers" do the same thing. I bought an adult shirt once & it was fug on me...so it's a pj shirt now. I don't hate it but I'm "over" it for sure.

Oh Lucy would never stand for any of this shit. Dude. Or the applques or the Janie and Jack horseshit or any of it. Good thing, too, bc we are way too poor for that!
I just googled and *some* of that stuff is okay but those damn clown pants!?! They are so ugly and they are everywhere around here! I'd love to see an adult in those pants, though lol.
