I'm rehoming two of our chickens cause they are noisy as Fuck and irritatating the whole damn neighborhood.
To do so, I have to catch them. This is not an easy task with these two. And then I have to put them in a box with holes and drive them 15 minutes away. Without help.
I'd do it early in the morning while they are still roosting.
One of my staff came to me complaining that another staff is using too much masking tape and the sound of the tape is making her crazy. I can't deal with this. I'm pretty sure I'm not cut out to supervise.

That was my plan, but they are going to the chicken store (lol) so I have to do it while they are open, which is 10 am to 6 pm.

Are your staff 3 years old? What on earth are they even using masking tape for?!

This is possibly the best complaint about office supplies I have ever heard. Holyshit.

In my previous life i used a lot of tape guns because I was in events and we were constantly packing up our supplies to ship them off to the next city. One of the managers in our group went into a fit of rage every time we pulled out the tape guns. I'm not exactly sure what the alternative was because we needed to pack the boxes. It irritated her to no end.

They use it to tape boxes and envelopes for mailing. This particular package had more tape on it than I would think is needed, but really, not something to complain about.

@ruralrabbit1 I just read your masking tape post out loud to my DH and said "you think you have immature employees." He's always complaining out his staff whining about ridiculous things.
We're having a slow start after a 3 days weekend. DH didn't leave for work until 10:30AM and I am still in my pj's. I work from home, but really all I'm doing is boat shopping and GBCNing.
I think our families are going to be pissed at us that we are not travelling for the holidays this year and I don't want to deal with the drama this may cause.

Our families all live within 30-60 minutes of us, so we've always gone to them for every holiday. Sometimes we visit two or three different families in one day. They've come to us a couple of times but they always act like we're asking them to come to the Himalayas or something.
A pair of our friends are in a similar situation, where the families are local enough where they don't need to fly or spend the night - one year the wife told her family that they were spending Christmas with the husband's family, and the husband told his family they would be going to see the wife's family, and then the two of them just spent the day together quietly. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to do this at some point. Or just book a faraway vacation over Christmas.

That's kind of genius - but it would totally backfire on me. With my luck, my mom would call my MIL's house to wish her a Happy Holiday and bam, instant trouble.
I'm reading the Ramen noodle thread on ML and now Ramen noodles are the only thing I've ever wanted. I rummaged through my desk and found a packet of instant Thai noodle soup, which is a decent substitute.
I'm already thinking of what kind of yummy Ramen noodle dish I can make to bring for my lunch tomorrow.
hamster, I really, really want to see video of herding chickens!
You guys, I'm so pissed on behalf of my husband. He's been with our organization for nearly 11 years. He accepted more responsibility 18 months ago with the promise of a promotion within 3 months. They finally presented him with a promotion today (15 months after they were supposed to). It's a promotion in title, but the pay is 13% less than the median for this position in his field. They presented it like they were giving him a god damn golden calf. He's pissed, and has an interview with a private firm on Thursday.
Mostly, it just sucks for BOTH of us to be so incredibly undervalued in the organization. He's really an important cog in holding the department together, and they don't get it.
