I am trying to brainstorm ideas for my H's birthday. I am hoping to get him something he can use on our travels - so can you tell me about any awesome travel gadgets/accessories you have?
I like keeping my passport in a holder so I can tuck things (boarding passes, frequent flyer cards, etc.) in the pocket. Mine is girly but there are tons of options.
And I plan to get my husband a luggage scale for Christmas, but don't have a recommendation for that.

Ditto Go Toobs and passport holder.
I picked this passport holder, because I though it was cute, and I often get a few chuckles from other people in line at check-in and immigration. I also like this one, which might a bit more masculine.
My must-have travel accessories are earplugs, an eye mask, and my earbuds, but my hands-down favorite travel gadget is my airplane headphone adapter, since a few airlines still used the two-port headphone jacks:
On our last trip to Japan, we picked up a teeny-tiny wireless router (similar to this one), because one of our hotels only had wired internet (that also happened to me once in Brazil). However, we used it the rest of the trip and often found that we had much faster and more convenient WiFi access that way compared to using the hotel WiFi! (We only had to log in on the first device we connected, and we weren't battling other guests for the wireless bandwidth.)
I have this luggage scale because it could handle my huge overweight bags when I had super-elite frequent-flyer status, but it weighs a full pound by itself! And if I'm worried about weight, I'd rather use that pound for the stuff I'm carrying back! Now that I've lost my elite status and can only carry the normal 50-pound bags, I switched to a cheap, lightweight luggage scale (similar to this one) I keep in my carry-on for emergencies. It's not the easiest to use, but it weighs almost nothing:
This is my weird-looking but surprisingly comfortable TravelRest pillow for sleeping against the sidewall on a plane
This is my current travel speaker. USB-Rechargeable means that it weighs less, and I don't have to worry so much about the batteries dying. (Have you noticed that weight is a theme here? I travel with a lot of gadgetry!)
For watching movies when the in-flight entertainment sucks (or is non-existent), this is the best iPad stand I've ever found! Yes, it's a display stand for books or plates! But it only costs a few dollars, it's non-slip, and it can be adjusted to almost any angle!
When renting a car for road trips, I never travel without a USB car charger, a mini-audio cable (in case there's an auxilary audio port in the rental car), and an FM transmitter (for when there's not), so that I can always use our music players with the rental car.
Gorillapod for self-timer pictures and night shots.
A multi-port USB charger is on my wishlist, but I haven't gotten the chance to buy one. With two phones, two iPads, the router, and the travel speaker, it's always nice to have plenty of charging space!
Similarly, I'd like a plug splitter, and this one handles both the splitting and the conversion to European outlets.
The rest of my travel gear tends to be trip specific. I have a cotton sleeping bag liner that can be used as a lightweight sleeping bag for warm-weather cabin-to-cabin trips or in sketchy accommodations. I have a travel smoke detector for hotels in places with questionable safety standards. Micro-towels for impromptu swimming stops without hotel access.
I bought DH a TravelPro carry on bag and suggested his mother get him a Samsonite featherweight checked bag. I also recommend a neck pillow, good headphones, and an LLBean personalized toiletry bag. I have packing cubes on my wish list.
