i don't like clowns. i don't mind seeing them at a fair or whatever..but a clown in my home? no chance in hell. a clown at night? NO WAY.
a coworker of mine..i don't work with him directly, but we see each other in passing very day..came by to talk to me...i think to advertise his clown business. he showed me a picture of a clown, and said "recognize this guy?" apparently it was him. i told him sorry but i'm really not a fan of clowns...and he said he understood, a lot of people have that phobia.
what i didn't want to tell him, is that the *real* reason i don't like clowns is that i think the people who dress up as clowns are weird. i can't imagine full-grown men wanting to dress and act like that. it just creeps me out.
clowns being the evil, dangerous, violent villains are second on the list of why i don't like clowns.
I hate clowns. There will never be one in our house. My husband slept beneath a velvet clown portrait when he was a kid an he was terrified of that picture. He too will never allow a clown in out house.
Not scary. When I was a kid I didn't understand why anyone would think they were scary.
But now as a grown up I think I get it.
This.
Jenn, by chance does this dude work in SM, teaches SM classes sometimes and make balloon animals too? Oh andifits the guy I'm thinking of he's about 400 years old?

I love clowns. Ex-h was scared to death of them. He killed stuffed clown:(
I loved these porcelain clowns DHs grandma got overseas and he vetoed us taking them when they passed away. His mom took them, thinking I can get them into a nursery someday.

No, he's a mid-30's relatively attractive hispanic man that works in mfg.
They don't bother me. I don't think they're creepy, they exist to make people smile or happy or laugh! I actually have a friend who went to clown college during one summer in high school where he learned to juggle and balance and do neat tricks. His persona is a sad clown, and he mostly uses him now as a political statement to protest protestors
The only kind of clowns I like are the ones at the rodeo that distract the bull and do funny stuff in between each event. I don't even know if they are considered clowns though.
Meh, they don't bother me too much. I think people that are dressed up as clowns make me uncomfortable, but more for the reasons Jennlin posted. I do get how some people can find them super creepy though.
