Does anyone know if Berlin clears out/shuts down in August the way a lot of other European cities do? I'm considering taking DD there for a long weekend in the next few weeks as everyone says how child-friendly it is and how amazing all the parks are.
I just don't imagine a city like Berlin totally clearing out in August. We went in February though.
All the main attractions would be open. The Museum Island is awesome. We also went to the Technology museum I believe it was called that and it was great for kids.
Maybe there will be less locals but I doubt the stuff you would visit in Berlin would be affected. Small restaurants and cafes maybe.
I don't think so. Berlin definitely doesn't get hot the way a lot of other cities do; my friends live there for a few months each year - usually July to September, and they always have tons of great things to say about it. I went last year in early September and LOVED it. It's a great city with so much to do and the weather was perfect.
