I have been meaning to do this for a while if nothing more than for myself!
Hoping to get some decent after pictures this weekend but can at least start on the before.
October of 2013 we bought our new home in the suburbs of KC. It's a 2 story with 4 bedrooms, 2.2 bath, about 3500 sq ft when counting the finished basement. It was built in 1996 which is much newer than I would prefer but I do love it.
There are the pictures from the listing when we bought and a couple from when our seller bought back in 2009.
Thankfully the suns left with her!
For comparison here is how pretty it was when the old owners had it
We have been working on this one a lot lately and it is almost done!
With the paint up and the new light fixture which was one we had from the old house.
Any ideas on what to put on this plant ledge?
We framed the existing mirror. Took the light fixture down and spray painted it. Bought new globes and put back up reverse from before. Saved so much money!
Added the wood details and paint in the toilet room. We joke that we have the fanciest toilet room ever!
So far we have painted. I want to replace the carpet with a different flooring. Just waiting for it to need to be replaced. A bigger table is also on the wish list but this one was my grandmother's table so I am attached.
And the removal of the wallpaper that was original to the house-
He was able to chose his paint colors since he got the smaller room. He chose a very bright blue. Only pics I have are blurry so I will take some this weekend hopefully. It's fun though.

Eleanor's room. We haven't done much in here since the paint color works but I do need to get a picture. She has colored on the walls with sharpie since this photo which totally adds a little something to the room

Really nice! Your deck is great. I think you did an awesome job with the black walls and built ins, too. I would have never considered black, but it really works in that room.
Wow, really nice. There are a lot of nice touches in there with the woodwork. I love the painted banister, and I love all your paint color choices. Your daughter's room is such a sweet color. How do you like the black now that you've lived with it?
The black room is my favorite. It helps that there is so much natural light and white in there. Still it gives the room a formal feel while still being functional as one of the main rooms we use (or abuse if you are my kids)
