My husband and I are in the early stages of planning a trip to Argentina next November. We only have 7 days because that is the longest amount of time I am willing to leave my daughter with her grandma. Haha! We want to spend most of the time in Buenos Ares and visit another spot for maybe 2 nights. We are debating Iguaza Falls vs. Mendoza. Cost isn't really an issue since most of the trip is covered by miles/points. I am open to other suggestions as well.
For reference, we love outdoor activities, food, wine, and just generally absorbing the culture of new places. We arent really museum people. Thanks in advance!

Mendoza offers good food, pretty countryside and of course good wine, so it ticks your first three boxes. And obviously if wine is a major priority then you should go there!
That said, there are plenty of wine country areas around the world, whereas there is only one Iguazu Falls. I just got back from there on Thursday, and it is truly impressive. Assuming you're from the US, you'd need a visa to be able to go to the Brazilian side, but I think it would be worth the trip just for the Argentine side if you don't want to undertake that cost/hassle. Obviously the whole point is that you're outside and walking around, but you wouldn't get the food/wine/culture aspects. In terms of uniqueness, Iguazu wins, and it's therefore what I would pick having been to both places, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's the better choice for you on this trip. Both are good options!

Thanks for the tips. We have 7 full days. I think I would actually prefer Iguazu. I think it was a good point a about it being completely unique. But my husband is making a hard sell for Mendoza so we can use his Hyatt points and upgrades. I guess some of his upgrades will expire soon after the trip. So, it's likely to be Mendoza this time!
