i'm visiting my parents this weekend, and my mom's birthday was yesterday. my mom loves pound cake, i'm meh about it so have never made one before. i have a recipe for brown sugar pound cake w/ an optional glaze (i would make it and glaze half) or a sour cream pound cake. i don't know which to make.
I have a sour cream pound cake recipe that I put a brown sugar glaze on. Just saying.
I would do this. I like pound cake to be as dense and moist as possible, and I think you'd have a better shot at that if you use sour cream. I like the idea of the brown sugar glaze for a birthday cake.
