My husband is attending a meeting in Miami in November (not over Thanksgiving) and I'm tagging along. Originally the plan was to have some of his family from the East Coast meet us down there, but they can't make it. Now we're looking at possibly going somewhere else in the Caribbean since it's a giant pain in the ass to get there from Seattle.
Our timeline would be Thursday night to Sunday (maybe extending to Monday), so pretty short. Because of that I'm trying to find places that won't take long to get to, both for flights (less than 2 hours would be ideal) and to get from the airport to wherever we'd be staying. It seems like Grand Cayman is a good option, or possibly the Out Islands of the Bahamas, but I'm not sure where to start with those. Any other ideas? We've been to Nassau twice, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and the Turks & Caicos. We don't want an AI.

Go to Staniel Cay in the Bahamas! 40 min flight, and you can swim with piggies!! They have all these little private bungalows and little boats you can use to cruise around.

mdgirl - We just went to Key West in July, and we stayed at Heron House Court (a B&B) and it was really nice! There are about 10 rooms, so not too small, but not too big. It was walking distance to everything, and you can rent bikes too. We had a great time!
Eta: Roman was the man at the desk, and he was awesome!! Got everything set up as far as excursions and food recs. SO nice!!
