In the infant stage, I was very careful about timing how long the formula was out and throwing it away. I stretch it a bit now that she is older (i am going to hell) but usually only if she hasnt started drinking it. But then .i started thinking about water or juice in a cup. Is that fine to sit out? Can I stop my limited paranoia about germs now that she is older? She eats food. Can I treat her like a regular kid? But do I have to be strict about formula forever?

We don't give juice, so I don't know about that. For water, we sometimes let the same cup sit out all day. However, my kids are big water drinkers so I generally need to keep refilling it.
If you leave WCM out for a while maybe 30-40 minutes, it definitely doesn't taste as good and can go bad. If it's been out I usually taste it to make sure it's ok.
It's hard because DS runs all over the place with his sippy cup and will leave it sitting some place. We will forget it and all the milk goes to waste. :-(
I don't know about Juice since we don't really give him much.
DD will drink water from a cup I poured yesterday, lol.
Juice and milk don't last long enough in her cup to be left out. She gulps those down quickly. Well, juice is a rare treat and she only gets milk in the AM and with dinner. She generally only drinks water throughout the day.
We don't give juice in a cup, DS only gets it at a party or something where they have juice boxes for the kids, he sucks that down in like two seconds because he loves.it and rarely gets it.
Milk he usually carries around in the morning for an hour or so. Whatever he hasn't finished at that point I toss. We dont /didnt use formula. If he gets milk at a restaurant he will sometimes take what is left to go in his silly, so that could be out an hour or two, he uses an insulated cup if that matters.
Water he gets all day in the same cup. I will refill it as many times as he wants but don't wash the cup or anything. He just gets a new cup the next morning.

Water stays out forever. She goes through it quickly so it's refilled often, but (for example) right now she has at least 3 water sippies out around the house. She was drinking from them yesterday and we'll keep using them today. I try to gather all sippies at the end of the day and stick them in the dishwasher, but it doesn't always happen.
She gets juice rarely, but I would let her keep drinking it until it got room temp. I usually use an insulated cup and ice.
She won't drink milk but does get kefir. I always put those in insulated sippy cups and I usually add an ice cube or two. She drinks these quickly, but if I see one that still has some left in it, I'll stick it in the fridge if it hasn't been long. Not sure where my line is. It would have to still be cold. And if it were overnight I'd throw it out even if it were still cold (which is possible -- the Thermos sippies are awesome).
I would try to put it in the fridge when she wasn't drinking it. Or put a couple of ice cubes in it. We also used insulated sippy cups most of the time. If milk goes bad, it tastes bad so I wasn't too concerned. And juice wasn't given that often.
