I miss Starbucks. This has been great to break my habit of going, but when I see anyone with an iced coffee with regular milk, I drool just a bit. If you had asked me before, I would have said cookies, donuts, and bread would be missed the most. Iced coffee wouldn't have even been on my radar!
I really don't miss bread nearly as much as I thought I would - even when I have eggs (which at first felt SO WRONG without toast).
Because W30 helped me to identify an allergy, I definitely don't miss grains. I was really sick with hives for several years so when I gave them up and got better, it was a complete no-brainer.
I recently stopped drinking alcohol and I don't miss that either.
Basically, as long as I have meat, eggs, vegetables, chocolate, and bananas, I'm a happy camper.
wambam, it has been helpful in really identifying that dairy and beans do not make me feel good (always had to be particular about milk anyway). I keep noticing that my stomach doesn't gurgle at work anymore LOL
jenny1980, I have been thinking the same thing about baking. Fall without baking sounds like no fun to me. Time to stick up on almond flour, etc. I am so surprised at how little I miss cheese. We used to have good cheese and just like cheddar cheese with probably 7 meals a week.
I miss my iced vanilla lattes. But I feel like if I have one, it's just going to be a downward spiral. I'm not missing rice, bread, bagels, etc. I don't think I'll go back to tell you the truth. Or if I do, might hold out longer than 30 days to try those items again. I feel like I could keep going. Dh has noticed I've lost some inches on my hips, and I have too. Why would I want that back?

During my ironman training I didn't drink. I didn't miss it. But when I was done, I went out for happy hours way too much and indulged. I don't miss alcohol either now that we are are two weeks in with whole 30. When I went out the other day for happy hour, I had unsweetened iced tea and watched everyone eat and I was fine. I didn't feel like I was missing out on something.
I realized that I like baking even if I can't eat any of it. I gave up coffee & I'll be going back to that. I was a total diet coke & sugar fiend & I've missed those shockingly little after the first couple days. I do miss cheese & bread/pasta. The rest of dairy I can live without. My digestion is still not great so I'm not sure how trial running things will go after. Better read that part of the book...lol.
i still miss cheese/dairy A LOT. even though i know it makes me feel like shit, even though now i know how good i feel when i'm off it, i still want a whole wheel of cheese. multiple wheels of all different kinds of cheese.
i'm surprised i don't miss bread as much. i will get a hankering for a grilled cheese or a baguette w/ oil and vinegar, but it quickly passes. and i never thought i would be okay with spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles instead of pasta, but i'm totally fine with it now and even crave the squash/zucchini noodles.

Yes! I had been hearing about spaghetti squash for a long time but never tried it. I love it.
