Since starting to sleep in longer drags at night babylefty has been a terrible napper. He sleeps about 10 hours at night (10-6 then 6:30-8:30) and then not again for any reasonable amount of time all day. He will sleep between 10 and 15 minutes a few times a day. If I drive around I might get 30 minutes out of him. He sleeps a total of maybe an hour. What did you do to get your baby to sleep? I've tried making it as close to bedtime as possible, wearing him, holding him all to no avail. He gets more and more grouchy through the day until evening when he's a beast.
J was a cat napper since birth and it was hard but she never complained from lack of sleep. Eventually she switched out of it and now naps 1 time a day. I just worked at keeping things as consistent as I could and scheduling was huge. For the bear days I would sometimes just have to lay her down make sure all her needs were met and just let her lay in her crib to see if she would work it out. I would also drink once it got later
That sounds frustrating all right. I'm frustrated by having to hold baby to sleep at night and for naps but if held she will sleep for hours. So I'm no help. Babies are such mysteries. Do you have a swing? Does he like that for sleeping?
How long has it been? This is probably a short phase. Everything changes, constantly it seems, during the first year. Once you get used to one routine it changes.

3 weeks I'd say. However he's never really slept well during the day. Before it was like...an hour long nap?
jamer he likes to lay in his swing and look around. If I turn it on? Newp. Which is insane as he likes to be swung in his car seat. But again that only lasts a short time before he's like "hey mom! I wanna party!" We also have a rnp that he sleeps in some nights (trying to get him into the pack play and eventually the crib...) so I've tried thwt. Hell I even tried doing our entire bed time routine one afternoon when he was being especially like Satan's spawn and he stopped crying and smiled at me the whole time like "I see what you're doing. Nice try lady but it isn't gonna work Bwah ha ha." Most days he is pretty content without sleep until about 5pm.

Remind me how old he is? Could it be the 4-month wakeful phase? FWIW, both kids were cat nappers. I was lucky to get 30 minutes at a time out of them - sometimes they would do better if I had them lie on me and we napped together. But often at daycare they'd get an hour max during the day. They didn't start napping better until around 7-8 months old.
Also, IME 5pm seems to be the witching hour no matter how much sleep they get. Hang in there!

This is pretty true. I still go through the witching hour with M and she will be 4 in just a couple months.

Agree. Even with lots of naps it is the witching hour. Probably worse though without naps
G was like this too. She only took longer naps once she was down to 1-a-day after her 1st birthday. At daycare they resorted to taking her for a walk in the stroller every day to get her to nap. She would look around for a long time (20 minutes?) then eventually doze off. Does he like the stroller?

I would try stroller or driving in the car. At four months bkb was getting into a normal schedule of three naps a day. Dropped to two at five months. keep trying.

I do this almost every day so he will take a "long" nap...30 minutes tops lol
Hes 3 months this week so it sounds like I might have to wait him out
