Ah, but she did post in this thread and identified that she sold them. It's just a different tactic.
it's not the selling that bothers me, it's the agressiveness of it. every day that wrap-chick posts about something. it's really annoying. i don't want to block her on FB. well, i do, but i feel bad doing it because i friended her right before she started with all of this crap.
I just don't think they look very good. They are hard to get just right....they often don't reach all the way to the nail bed, they are cut weird, they bubble, etc. I think if you were to spend a comparable amount of time on your nails with polish they would look better. And I think designs on nails are kind of....young looking. But I fully admit I'm a snob when it comes to my nails. lol Examples:
I'm not trying to get rich. I joined because I like the products. That said, I am not anywhere close to the top and I've made some money doing it.
However, I am also not that person who inundates people with it. If someone asks me about my nails I will tell them, but I'm not trying to shove it in anyone's face.
My friend is acting like she joined a cult. I'm glad to see not everyone acts this way.
I have the same problem with otherwise very smart friends. It's like they've been brainwashed. One in particular is horrible. She sells like three different things and rarely posts about anything else on fb. I call her the snake oil salesman bc her main product is it works!
I don't have an issue getting the stickers to reach the cuticle. That appears to be a matter of application. I do have an issue with them being too narrow. Apparently I have wide nails.
I like Jamberry, they allow me to have a little more fun with my nails. I generally stick with the french manicure wraps and then use the fun prints for an accent nail. I still can't get them to last two weeks but I get a good week out of them which is far better than the couple of hours I get out of nail polish before I ruin it.
My BFF is a consultant. She sent me some samples. They're not hard to use but they take way more time for me to do than just painting my nails. They're also pricey. They're vinyl decals. They stay on for awhile but not longer than my nail polish so I didn't really see the bonus to using them over doing my own nails.
ETA: BFF became a consultant because she loved the product and wanted the discount. She hasn't tried to recruit me to sell even once.
This is exactly what I was going to say! Thankfully my bff hasn't pushed me to buy any either. I feel a little bad not being more supportive, but patterned nails are NMS and I see no reason to buy the solids when I have 20 bottles of nail polish at home that are IMO easier to use.
That said if patterned nails or stick on nails appeal to you, I can see why people like jamberry. There are tons of cute designs, and they are at a low enough price point that I would say they are affordable.
I'm just flabbergasted that people actually still do this MLM stuff. And not only do they do it the whole MLM scheme seems to be expanding to more and more stuff!!
Do people actually make money? And what is the per hour of work return? They must make good money otherwise how else does this sort of industry survive?! I don't get it! Every thing you read about this industry is negative. It seems like it should be a relic of the 90s at this point.
I like them, though a certain friend said that one design looked like caterpillars.
It works for me, I only use them on my toes. Every single time I paint my nails, I have to put on socks (and ruin my paint job)...this works because there's no dry time. And mine last about 3-4 weeks.
In my FB feed Rodan+Fields and Beachbody are the current top offenders. Before that, Tastefully Simple (some of which I actually buy) and 31.
Oh, and the doTerra essential oil people.
I haven't heard of any of those except for the oils so they must not have migrated to Canada yet!!
I happen to know that Rodan+Fields (skin stuff, developed by the same ladies that created Proactiv) recently debuted in Canada, thanks to my FB feed Beachbody is all fitness stuff (DVDs and shakes), Tastefully Simple is a lot of mixes (dips, sauces, baked good type stuff), 31 is (IMO) ridiculously overpriced bags.

31 Handbags posts their consultant earnings statement and the last time I checked, their consultants averaged around $2.13/hr. ETA: www.thirtyonegifts.com/income-disclosure-statement/ Looks like it dropped. 7hrs per week average, average annual "income" (LOL) is $654. So... $1.80/hr?
DoTerra is now on my shitlist. It's be coopted by the anti vax chiropractor crowd as a cure for everything from viruses (incl the new one that's making kids sick all over the country) to Lyme disease. I just want to start shanking people.

Ugh, agreed. MLM is MLM no matter if it's skincare, candles, cleaning products or damn nail stickers.
"I'm not like those other consultants." Really? Then why are you doing it? It's a MLM structure, to be successful it dosen't matter what you're selling, just that you building your team. That's the point.
The oil ones drive me effing insane. Mostly because people post some random bullshit like "omg, I was dying and now I cured my cancer with X oil! BLAH BLAH BLAH I LOVE OILS."

All of the people on my FB who used to sell ItWorks! wraps are now doing Young Living. I love reading the YL/DoTerra fights online, but I get EO's from Piping Rock and they are just fine. And cheaper. And I don't claim it cures croup, cancer, autism, or ADHD.
I think the real problem with the oils on my feed was that one girl I know started selling it and 2-3 mutual friends signed up under her. So they were all constantly posting about the oils and responding to each other with these veiled sales pitches about a specific oil that was their favorite and does X. I unfollowed all of them, and it's been much better.

It makes me want to scream.
my BFF sells norwex and, per her statuses, is now branching out into weirder and weirder "save yourself from toxins" crap. It makes me sad. I did order the overpriced swiffer mop though.
I still say Arbonne sales people are the worst. Followed closely by scentsy
You must not know any Younique people. The before and afters are just horriffic!
Oh crap I forgot about that one! I don't understand how people think their eyelashes actually look good because every "after" pic I've seen has looked terrible.
