You're not supposed to eat soft cheeses while pregnant.
You're not supposed to eat UNPASTEURIZED soft cheese when pregnant. You'd probably have to actively seek out unpasteurized cheese in most places.
This goes for a "fingernail's worth of feta" too. <-- reminds me why I haven't slaughtered out The Bump boards this pregnancy.
ETA - "sought" out. I think this is super fitting though.
Most Brie is pasteurized, but then they add on the mold after,, so you're not supposed to eat it when pregnant. Actually, I swear I'm finding it harder this time to find good cheese that is pasteurized. I was semi scolded by the cheese monger at Whole Foods yesterday for picking up some Comte.

Interesting. I have never heard that part about it being added after. I was previously told by my Dr and MW that it was fine as long as the label said past., and places like WF need permission to import raw milk cheeses in Canada from previous reading. Things may have changed though. They are always changing. Also, pity me. We are +1.5 hours away from good WF cheese. I miss my home town and WF.
More reading....
So it sounds like you can use raw milk of a certain age to make unpasteurized cheese in Canada, as well as import.
I have fallen down the most delicious rabbit hole of reading ever.
