They gave me another ultrasound at the OB and all was great. Then they said they were giving me a blood test for genetic stuff and It will also reveal the baby's sex if we want to know it. I am not even 11w and I am going to know if we are having a boy or girl?! This all feels crazy fast.
Due to my high BP, my 20w ultrasound will be at the hospital with a MFM and she says it will be a very detailed one (and I think 4D). There are some perks to my crappy health problems!
They gave me a list of approved allergy and cold meds so hopefully my misery will end soon. And I got a big packet of magazines and coupons and what not. And she's like, see you next time for your first appointment in second tri!
I've never heard it but I did have a lot of contractions early on, enough to dilate me 3cm by 37 weeks (and realistically probably earlier, that just happened to be my first cervical check).

Glad it went well! I'll also be getting that blood test, so psyched I'll know the sex so early! I hadn't heard that about fertility treatments and earlier labor, I'll have to ask aobut that.
Also, she mentioned preterm labor/contractions are a bigger concern among patients with IF treatments. Have you ever heard that?
I have heard that actually. If you've done IUI, IVF, or had a D&C, since they all go through your cervix, that can cause an incompetent cervix. I don't think it's common though, my cervix was fine when they measured it at 19 weeks and as far as I know I haven't had any PTL.
Preterm labor is something I worry about though, especially now that I'm feeling what I think are BH contractions sometimes. I know they're totally normal, but they still make me nervous, like what if they are real contractions and I go back for my 32 week u/s and find out I'm already dilated? It didn't help that our birth class this week talked about PTL and how to recognize it, because now I worry every time my stomach tightens or I have a backache.
