Had to make an emergency trip out of town to help MIL out (she's sick, it's not good). Anyway, the good news is that the Hourglass blush palette has made my travel makeup cases so much lighter. It's got a good range of color. I do not need to pack five blushes like I did the last time we came down.
I think I want to get her makeup for Christmas. I think it will boost her spirits and help her feel good. She's a natural redhead and continues to dye her hair that color. Cool skin. What's a good blush and/or lipstick?
I'm sorry about your MIL.
Is she fair? Maybe Tarte Dollface for blush. How about the Bite remix lip set?

pretty similar to what you would get. Blue undertones would work of she has cool skin.
secretlyevil those looks are gorgeous! Thank you so much! Now I just have to practice my smokey eye skills (or lack thereof).
If you need to pick up a few supplies, you can always take one of these pictures with you and have an MUA help you. I also added the link to the golden smokey eye above. You could go to Ulta, Sephora, Nordstroms or Mac.
I think UPS delayed my Sephora order (which is supposed to arrive today), because the tracking changed from an expected delivery date of today to information not available.

If by some magic somebody is NOT totally done shopping at the moment - tarte is on hautelook. Looks like last year's holiday sets at pretty good prices.
ETA: and a bunch of lippies and the Amazonian clay liners.
I tried a sample of the Ole Henriksen CC cream today. I hated it the second I squeezed the package. It's thick, hard to spread, and heavy feeling.
I also tried this, except I stupidly did not stop when I opened the foil pouch, but instead, went ahead and put it on my face. It is awful. And it smells like cloves. The smell does not go away, nor does it ever stop feeling greasy. I had to wash it off after an hour because I couldn't take it anymore. I do not understand who could like this product.

Has anyone had to change eye primers after starting to use an eye cream? Since I started using the YTBB eye cream, my Stay Don't Stray hasn't been as effective at keeping my shadow from creasing. Boo.

Are you supposed to put eye cream on your eye dome?
So I just found out that a very good friend who I have not seen in almost six years is going to be an hour from my MIL's this weekend. I packed makeup for sitting around a retirement community and hospital. I did not pack makeup for this kind of occasion. I can certainly manage, but I didn't bring my gold skyliner or my Becca blush.
I feel like I should have realized this before, but I'm pretty sure my left eye is hooded and my right isn't. Can someone direct me to the how tos of applying eyeshadow on hooded eyes?

Are you supposed to put eye cream on your eye dome?
Sincere question.
I don't know but I have been. It says to put it all over the orbital, so my guess was to put it on the upper and lower part since it didn't specify.

I put it on my face as well. I thought about taking it off, but didn't. I really should have.

The blueberries stuff specifically says something about around your eye to orbital bone, so I take them at their word and smear that shit everywhere. And to answer racegrrl714 - yes. My nyx HD primer doesn't work nearly as well if I've got eye cream on. (I don't actually put any more on in the AM, but if I don't wash my face before m/u in the morning the residuals from the night before are enough to interfere with my primer.)
I've found the smashbox primer works almost too well regardless of what else is on my face.

Are you letting your eye cream soak in for a few minutes? As long as I do that, I have no issues with UD eye primer.

I do now. I was having dry eye lid issues. Since I started the eye cream all over the lid as well as under eye, etc. I've had no issues.

Yes, on the days I have used it in the morning, it's probably had between 10-20 minutes to set before putting on any makeup.

I only use eye cream at night and yes I slather it everywhere. I don't know if I'm supposed to, but it keeps the dry eyelid issue at bay.

Oh yeah I forgot about the awful smell and the greasy feeling that I, too, had to wash off after an hour.
I'm doing subtle smokey eye for work. I will go all out for date night on Saturday.
Lorac Mint Eyes & Cheeks. The shimmer burgundy color is the one I used to make the smokey eye. Too much work to describe the other colors I used because they don't have names. Cheeks are MAC Fever, lips are Revlon Red Velvet Lip Butter.
I got my Sephora packages today whee! (and H isn't home, so I snuck that stuff upstairs and into my collection). I got both the Season sample bags - one of them has two of the GlamGlow hydrating thingies instead of the Tarte lip gloss which is fine, because I already have a zillion lip glosses.

You could always try the code and if it works, great, if not delay for the next deal. From what I read on the Sephora boards yesterday, it seemed like most people were confident there would be something like a $20 off $50+ or something like that.
