No, you're right. It's never easy 100% of the time, but it shouldn't always be work. (At least, I know I'd be similar to you, and couldn't keep going if it always felt that way). The happy, good, easy times should outweigh the bad/difficult times. That's what pushes you to get through the tough stuff. You deserve to have so much happiness, and I hope you'll find that with decision. ((Hugs)) We're all here for you!
texassmith Thank you! I wish I could. Unfortunately days off are few and far between. I will definitely let you know next time I'm in Austin.
katyintx I wish I could make it this evening! We'll have to try to get it together sometime soon. Or just have another Houston gtg (katinthehatfinallykrisb)
I'm still debating whether I want to register for the half or the full for Kiawah. I'm leaning towards full, which is probably a little silly and crazy. I can take a second shot at Boston if it doesn't happen or I can improve my time possibly.
I really, really wish there was a way I could register for the full and drop down and not pay $35. Most races I've seen let you drop down for free.
Decisions, decisions...
Does the full sell out? If not, can you sign up for the half and then change to the full if you want? Then you're paying more to get a longer race, which seems more palatable.
I'm so sorry. I'm sure medical school is hard on any marriage. Marriage isn't easy, but it shouldn't be hard work all the time. I wish you the best with whatever you decide. (((HUGS)))

This is definitely a possibility.
I think I remember lb2006 saying that the full definitely does fill up every year.

OMGoodness yes. So sorry you're going through all of this at one time.

Good to know! Gah, I think I'll sign up for the full, but I'll probably wait until the end of the month (before the price increase) just to think it over some more.

runaways, hugs. That is a lot to go through at once. I am so sorry.
One of my best friends just announced her wedding date for mid-October - of this year - and she lives across the country. Because of this and a couple other factors, I am not going to run my October half that I am registered for. I feel like I can't be away from my family back-to-back weekends (I will travel alone to the wedding). This is a huge weight off my shoulders. This just means I have to PR at Kiawah. You speedy people need to rub off on me (or inspire me to work as hard as you do .

I'm definitely in for a Houston GTG if it's on a weekend. No need to work specifically around me though.

I was supposed to run a local half marathon with my mom in the middle of October. I had some work training near San Francisco come up so it wasn't going to makes sense for her to come down for the weekend. I jokingly told her we could both go out to California the weekend before. It must have been fate because there's a half marathon through Sonoma that Sunday. 5 hours later, we had the trip booked. I'm so excited!
