Because I am the type that needs to have all the things match, I chose a line from PBK that has been around for ever. I got ones for me, DH, and DD1 in 2009, and then in 2012 for another one for DD2. I am pretty confident that they will have the same line when we have DC3.
We did Pottery Barn stockings for each boy. They both have a different character on them with their name. I figured PB wasn't going anywhere when I decided to buy Jack his stocking.

We did PBK as well. The dimensions don't seem to change from year to year on their quilted stockings, even if they offer different designs.
The dogs' stockings don't match everyone else's, though, but I only hang one dog stocking because we have limited hooks. They would gladly take your head pats as consolation on this topic.
For my daughter's first Christmas I bought her a stocking from Pottery Barn Kids. I liked it so much that the next year I bought one for myself and one for my husband (different designs, but same stocking). This year I'll be buying another one for our son. They are all the same basic stocking with different designs sewed on.
I actually just emailed the etsy seller who did our stockings last night to get one made for the baby. She said she doesn't have the same burlap material anymore, so I can't decide if I should just go with the darker burlap she has or get all new stockings. I want them to match, dammit!
My grandmother needle pointed stockings for all her grandkids. When she passed away my mom started. December 08 (before DS was born) my Christmas gift from my mom was his stocking. She also made one for DP. I was a blubbering mess.
So, ours are all needle pointed, but I don't think "mismatched" is a bad thing.
We have the same thing. My grandma made stocking for her kids/ spouses and all the grandkids as the family grew, and now my mom makes them for our kids. I love it, and I will keep the tradition going if I ever have grandkids.
Maybe you could find a similar style to yours and add as you go.
I have been legit obsessing over Hanna Anderson XMAS PJs since August.
If you wait until like 2-3 weeks before Christmas, they go on sale for $15 a pair. This has happened the last two years running at my local store, so I think it's a thing with them.
At this juncture, I will also throw in that I bought Christmas-cookie-flavored coffee creamer last week. I wanted something different and they already had seasonal stuff out.

We have pottery barn stockings. They were out of stock on our color last year for DD so I ordered a green one for her on super sale (it was mid Dec). I will order her matching one on their Black Friday sale this year.

I honestly bought enough fabric 2 years ago to make up to 5 Christmas stockings out of the same line. I've made two for DH and I and have the rest of the fabric set aside.
The fabric is also lime green and turquoise and features Santa gnomes.
