hmmm not sure yet for this year. Last year I dressed as a baby and wore a crown and carried a British flag - HRH Prince George Alexander Louis A lot of people had no clue who I was.
Sometimes we go to a Simpsons trivia event, and their October event is going to have a costume contest so I'd like to dress up for that. I have a few ideas.
If we don't go to that, then I doubt we'll dress up. Nobody has time for a party and we never get trick-or-treaters on our block
We've been Wayne and Garth, plus a Ghostbuster and the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man - all homemade and pretty easy. We were a gorilla and a banana one year, and got those costumes from the Oriental Trading catalog.
ETA: How old is your DD? If she's willing (or too young to care), you could tweak her costume a bit to be Mighty Mouse and then you could all go as super heroes.
We have an adults costume party every year and I am going as either Maleficient or Red riding hood. Past years I have been a pirate, surgeon, ladybug, flight attendant, Dorothy from Wizard of Oz.

I'm not sure if we have a party to go to this year, but if anyone's looking for ideas, the best costume ever was when DH and I went as a team from Double Dare. Sweat pants and an awesome costume, FTW!

If I do anything Snow White. I get comments about it every time I wear red lipstick because I'm so pale and have dark hair. Throw on a $30 Disney dress or the right skirt and top and done.
Of course my friend tends to go all out and I told her I'd be her guinea pig this year so we'll see.

Probably a pirate since DD1 is going to be Izzy and DD2 is going to be a fairy (aka, supplier of pixy dust ;-) ).
I'm all about easy costumes. Can you be a witch? (Black dress and witch hat.) A cat? (Cat ears, tail, and a black or gray shirt and matching leggings.)

NOTHING!!!! I'm using this non-US thing to my advantage and skipping Halloween altogether this year. No costumes for the kids either!!!!! Hope that doesn't make me a bad parent, although I pretty much don't care. i will consider it a success if I make it through this move to London without having to dress in "fancy dress" (aka costumes). My husband has already failed at this.
