A million kajillion times easier! Not laboring and pushing made a huge improvement in my post op comfort. I wasn't running any races but I did shower daily immediately after and just felt stronger overall. Labor is hard work and taking that out of the equation helps immensely.
I'm the dissenter. I had complications with both, but they were worse the second time around. I was in recovery for about 18 hours as my oxygen and blood pressure wouldn't stabilize.
It was easier than laboring for 31 hours and having a c, but just barely.
Wow! That's crazy! I'm sorry you had to go through that.
#2 and #3 were very easy. I had a lot less pain and was up and moving quickly. I left the hospital after two days. #4 was tough from the start. DD3 had the cord around her neck three times and they had to suction her out. I had a lot of scar tissue and they had more trouble sewing me up. It took a while for my temp to go up and they had me under a warming blanket for quite a while before I could be moved to my room. My incision opened on one end and took almost 3 months to completely close. I know it can be riskier the more c/s you have.

See our first night home, I heard her cry, and I jumped up out if a dead sleep. I think that tore some internal stitches or something. Everyone says I shouldn't have been in pain for 18 mos.
I understand each one is different, I'm just really hoping this one is better!

I'm hoping this one is easier - though legitimately the first one was pretty easy other than the fact that I hadn't eaten in 24 hrs because I was being induced which lead to no progress which lead to c section.

I am going to be really careful not to overdo it next time. I got out of bed pretty much as soon as I got to my room. I got nauseous when I was in the bathroom and started throwing up while standing. I am pretty sure that is when my incision opened. I still have some discomfort in that area 15 months later and I have gained weight since I haven't exercised much since I am uncomfortable. Next time I am going to take it much easier and let other people handle the kids/baby more.
1st one about did me in - awful recovery, almost didn't have a 2nd bc of it. 2nd was worlds better, obviously there was pain still but it was night and day.

Repeat C Section was soooo much easier than my unplanned C section after laboring. So much easier. Plus, this time around, I knew to stay on top of my pain meds and knew what to expect.
Recovery was a bit easier, but having a toddler to care for as well made it harder. My incision healed quicker and I think the pain level was lower. It's all a blur!

I found my recovery to be easier with the second one (and the first wasn't bad at all). Knowing what to expect helped and my body kinda "remembered" what it was like. I did have to make sure I didn't push myself since I had DS around but otherwise I was great.
