I knit. Revelry.com has pretty much any pattern you could ever need, want, or desire. You can search by free patterns or but individual ones. I also check out books from the library, occasionally pick up a book at the usual craft stores, or just google what I want.
When I say I'm a beginner, like I'm REALLY a beginner.
I started knitting a scarf and I can't figure out how to start with a new ball of yarn. I have the Stitch 'N Bitch book, and it has several options. I failed at all of them :/
Dimwitted knitter in the house.
Try knittinghelp.com. They have really easy to follow videos of all the basic knitting steps. Also, if you have a local yarn store usually the workers are super friendly and happy to help you with questions.
