How do you eat them? Just plain? I love avocados, but I usually use them for guacamole or in a salad or along with a Mexican/southwest meal. I bought a couple to eat as snacks this week, but now I'm not sure what to do with them, other than scoop them out and maybe add some salt and lime juice. I feel like I need tortilla chips or something.
I eat them with meals a lot (sliced on sandwiches, in salads, mashed on things), but they're a bit much for me for just a snack on their own. Not that it wouldn't be good, but it's really calorically dense. Even peak HIM training doesn't demand that many calories and I prefer to spend my extra calories on other stuff!

Yeah, I was thinking about eating half of one (and saving the other half for the next day), which isn't *too* crazy. The internet tells me half an avocado is about 125 calories, so not much more than a banana.
I wish I ate them more often. Love them. I dice them up in large chunks and add them to a salad. I usually eat a salad for lunch, and including an avocado makes it much more satisfying (the fat, I'm assuming).
venice2007, I also never heard of roasting them, but now I need to try this asap!

I'm with gt7301b - I put them on whatever I'm eating. I put it in soup, on my eggs, in salads (Strawberry/Avocado Salad is yum!), on sandwiches. I used to make devilled eggs w/ Avocado - just mash up the avocado w/ the yolks and some salsa...it was a good pre-workout on lifting days!

I use them in place of mayo in egg salads. I cook them up in my scrambled egg. I snack on them with tomatoes. When I want quick I will make a cheating guacamole with mashed avocado, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Basically, I love all things avocados.
