Our cleaning lady comes today too! Luckily she doesn't come until around 11, so I'm going to take M out to lunch and a quick grocery run. First solo outing!
Please PIP your Tetris style!
As promised. This wasn't a very challenging game of Tetris as I had like eight things to buy. Note my namesake vegetable in the lower right hand corner!
I mentioned it the other day, but some really close friends of ours are in a really touch and go situation with their 25 week twins. Baby B isn't receiving adequate blood flow through the placenta and she was admitted at 24w6d yesterday. I just got an email that after a really scary night, it looks like they will make it to their second steroid shot this afternoon, obviously just the first hurdle. I am beyond relieved that things, for the moment, are going well.
If anyone has any to spare, thoughts and prayers for Ryan and Jen!
Thanks,@littlemoxie and @supergreen. I'll look into getting a manual pump.
Just don't get the Avent manual pump that comes with 9 different parts. Ugh, I hated washing that stupid thing.
anna7602 the Manual Medela is 4 parts. Flange, elbow w/ membrane, handle, bottle. It fits easily into a quart-sized ziploc bag, which I threw into my purse.
@supergreen - how did the lab work go this morning?
Five vials of blood later, I am done. DS was great, I bought him a new 5-pack of Matchbox cars, and he played with them the whole time. And I managed not to puke! I was very proud of myself LOL.
However, between the lost blood and the sugar drink, my blood sugar bottomed out while we napped and I almost fainted when I woke up. I called DH in a panic and made him leave work, threw DS in front of a movie, and tried not to puke. I ate and finally feel less woozy, but still pretty bad.

Awesome. This solves my date night problem, too. I didn't actually, um, go on many dates in the early days with DD because I was the only one who could get her to sleep. But, I do remember feeling engorged and uncomfortable the few times I tried. This time around, We're already aiming to get out next week (DS will be 7/8 weeks)!
I just had an a-ha moment as I was thinking about my labor that I asked for the epidural exactly 15 minutes after my labor with DS had reached the amount of time I was in labor with DD total. I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't gone in with a pre-conceived notion that labor should last x amount of hours because I had done it before? (And if I hadn't been induced, and if I had actually progressed in the first 16 hours and if I had slept and eaten...)

I'm on my train ride home and have to stop at the bank on my way home to do the wire transfer for our house purchase. We are suppose to sign paperwork tomorrow and close on Friday.
I'm super excited for our new house and can't wait to move out of my parents place and settled before all the craziness of DS1's bday and the holidays start. But I'm going to be sad to see so much money leaving our savings account. It was nice to pretend we were rich with our 6 figure account balance and not having a mortgage payment the last few months.
Someone else's kid puked all over my car. In my other daughter's car seat. 4 to 5 times projectile. FML. Not how I was planning on spending my morning, at least DH was home and able to keep our other daughter and switch cars with me.
Yikes! Did the other parent not offer to help clean up? Also, I'm not sure what FML means.
Congrats turtlegirl! New home is so exciting! I felt the same way when we wrote the check for our new place (5 figures). I was excited about the new house, but holy shit that was a lot of money!!!
Our family pics came back, and they turned out great... but I hate how my tall and skinny husband makes me look stumpy by comparison. Perhaps this can be the motivation to finally lose those last 10-15 pounds and make it back to my pre-pregnancy weight.
DH just got back from New Orleans and forgot to get a Starbucks city mug for our collection. So now I am scouring online and will probably pay way over retail just to have it. This seems stupid but I know I'll do it anyway.

How are you liking your new place? Is it way better than the crappy farmhouse?
We are gaining about 700 square feet and a pool. So I'm excited about that but scared for the increased bills. We are going to be saving nothing for a while. It's definitely going to be an adjustment.

We love it! It is way better than the crappy farmhouse. It was built in 1981 rather than 1801, LOL. The new house has central air and heat (glorious!), two full baths, modern appliances, a wood stove, a huge garage. We're very happy here.
