1. MIL asked if she could take my kid to Omaha this weekend to see her family. I told her yes- I'm actually bummed that I can't go. He's leaving tomorrow afternoon and will be back by noon or one on Sunday. I'm getting drunk. But I have no idea what to pack for two six hour car rides for a two-year-old. Help.
2. I went garage sale-ing tonight. I bought a cookie for DS and a pair of shorts in two hours. It was fun though- we went through the town that we are 90% sure DS is going to go to school in. It is a picture perfect small town- kids playing in the front, everyone waves when you drive by, I love it. It made me a little sad to live in the country though- everyone was out visiting with their neighbor, and we don't really do that too often.
3. I love this time of year- all the cows are out to pasture and they are so beautiful. I saw a herd of dairy cows tonight, I want my own so bad I can taste them.
4. We don't have to deal the the assholio banker that pissed us off the other day. I'm pretty stoked- we found another bank to take over the whole thing and he was nice.

Is MIL embarking on this ride alone with your DS?
I would pack NEW toys and snacks. I'm not a parent, but it usually helps my sisters with their kids.
Oh heavens no. MIL, FIL and two younger SILs.
Yeah, no new toys. It's nearly 8 pm and I'm in BFE. I'm thinking books and toys and comfy clothes.
I think I'll ask the daycare to change him into clean clothes before he leaves so he won't be all grimy for the ride.
I'm going to put all his outfits by days into ziploc bags. Probably over kill, but I do what I want.
Melinda, my FIL is Republican. Maybe that's why Obama wants the kid.
