My dog has recently started climbing on the coffee table when we leave her alone. (I know this because we see drool spots on the table.) She never climbs up there while we're at home.
We never give her table scraps and don't leave anything on the coffee table while we're gone, so I can't figure out why she's getting on the table only when she's left alone.
Any ideas on how to get her off the table when we aren't home?
My dog used to do the same, so I put some change into a tin can. My dog hates the sound of the coins rattling around in there when I shake it, so after she learned to associate the can with the sound, I put the can on the table and she stopped going near it. Now I don't need to put the can on there anymore, she is no longer interested in jumping on the table.
If we're not home, I let my dog stay in our front yard. He had his little house and his favorite dog bone in place so he won't be seeking anything while we're out.
