How much do you pay for your twins for child care hourly? Do you keep the same hourly rate for child care vs a babysitter for an evening out? My kids are 11 months btw.
I'm in HCOL. We pay on the books what equals $20 in our nanny's pocket. But more like almost $25 an hour for the taxes and fees, etc.
Our babysitter gets $18 an hour no matter what time she is over.
We started swapping babysitting nights twice a month with our neighbors who also have twins. One of us goes over there after the kids go down so that they can go out to dinner/drinks/whatever. They do the same for us 2 nights a month. Its awesome.
We pay $225/week for the kids to go to an in-home daycare 3 full days a week (usually 8-5). We live in a HCOL area and were VERY lucky to find someone so reasonable. She's licensed and everything, and that has been the rate since they were under 1 (they're a little over 2.5). She gives us a 20% discount for having two in with her.
We're also extremely fortunate to have a ton of family close by and haven't had to pay for a sitter yet. From what I understand, the going rate around here is around $15/hour.
It woks out to $15 an hour. But, to be fair, my mother is now our nanny so we are not paying the market rate. Market rate would be somewhere around $20 or $30 an hour for all 3 kids.
When J was at a center his infant room was $387 a week and his toddler room was $334. Had we kept the kids there we would have received a 5% discount on his tuition. So all in it would have been just shy of $1100 a week.
We will be paying $273 a week at our center for the first twin and a 10% discount for the second, so just shy of $519 a week. Rates don't decrease until they hit preschool at our center.

Ours costs $104 per child, per day (we're in Australia btw).
Luckily they only go part time, since full time would be $520/week per kid (no discount for a second child and they're in the cheapest room now that they're 4yo).
It's one of the most expensive centers in town but there's a daycare shortage and VERY long wait lists here, and it was the only center where we could get two places in the same room on the same days.
We could do group in-home care for cheaper but my boys really need to be immersed in a larger setting with more kids. We also looked into nannies but they start at about $60k/year so that wasn't an option.
Needless to say, we can't wait until they start school next year!
MCOL the nanny takes home around $2572 per month and then we owe about $1200 in taxes per quarter. She works Mon-Thur from 7am-6pm but this year they are at school from 8:50a-11:35am Mon-Thur and I didn't change her pay or anything. I looked into daycare to have them start this fall and it was going to be about the same per month for three toddlers once I factored in the taxes.
For babysitting I usually pay $15p/h but I don't use my nanny for that too often.

Mine never went to daycare, but went four hours a week to an in home and we paid $55 for it. Now they're in preschool (they're 4) and it's $1200/month for Monday-Thursday 8:30-2
I'm ten min from Boston so the col is reasonably high.
