My step sister wants me to help her in listing some baby essentials, we all have listed everything except for a thermometer. It seems so hard to choose what kind of thermometer because there are a lot of thermometer now. Well, I can recommend mine, but I want to know what kind of thermometer you are using for your babies? What will you prefer, a rectal, an ear, forehead, arm or an under the tongue thermometer?
I have an ear one and another that can be rectal or underarm (maybe mouth too but I'm not putting that thing in anyone's mouth). I vastly prefer the ear one but when my kids were infants and had a fever it was nice to have a backup of a different type.

I can't remember what brand I had, but I had a forehead thermometer. It was rather useless when my kids were sick, especially as the nurse's line wanted a rectal temp. So I resorted to a rectal thermometer even though NO ONE liked it. I would have one of each....the forehead for initial temperaturs in case you are uncertain and then a rectal for a true temperature reading.
