Tight sports bras and lots of caffeine helped me. I'd pump when I couldn't stand it anymore. I think it took a week to go from nursing 4 times a day, to pumping 3x a day, to none. I expressed milk in the shower one more time like a week later and that was it.

I've only been nursing once a day for a month. I'm so tempted to nurse tonight but I need to push through. I think ill take a Benadryl tonight, and maybe an ace bandage.
Ugh. I'm stuck in the woods with forty 8th graders for another four hours.
My 20 month old just finished nursing and I think a catalyst was that I had a really bad upper respiratory infection. That being said, I didn't have any engorgement issues and I think it was because I ended up taking various cold medicines after he weaned that have a decongestant in it that must have helped "dry up" my milk. Pseudoephedrine is the specific drug used that apparently decreases milk supply. Allergy medicine has pseudoephedrine as an ingredient and might help. Not saying to take cold meds just for fun but it is good to know. Good luck!
