Eta: it will just be me but dinners and all with overlap with my H. I don't see this a big deal bc he is supportive and he'll still get his sandwiches and all for lunch. We already eat very differently since I'm GF and he is not and he eats a ton of dairy.
We had something similar - H's lunches weren't compliant, but mine were. It worked for us because all meals in the home were pretty compliant (I already shared with the board that I wasn't perfect ). I don't think it makes a big difference which one you choose. It is more about what is sustainable for you. If you are trying to get yourself to stop eating treats, I would do whole 30 so you stay away from paleo treats (lots of yummy desserts - and not so yummy desserts lol- can still be made with paleo).
I thought whole 30 was more restrictive? As an example, I thought you could eat potatoes on whole 30 but not on paleo unless it's a sweet potato. Whole 30 restricts dairy but paleo you can eat dairy and some other foods in strict moderation.
It's like squares and rectangles. Everything that is W30 is paleo. Not everything that is paleo is W30.
White potatoes are now allowed, just not in fry or chip form. So baked potatoes, roasted potatoes, etc. are compliant.
Also, IMO, W30 is a temporary means to reset and identify food sensitivities. Paleo is a much longer term, more sustainable way of eating. You can't make treats or use any added sugar during W30, but on a long-term paleo diet you would obviously want to be able to make treats and use honey occasionally.
