Hello mommies! I'm popping in from MM with a stroller/carseat Q. Anyone want to recommend their stroller/carseat combo?
I think we've decide on the UppaBaby Vista stroller, so would love to hear what people use with that stroller, but really, I'll take any stroller/carseat combo recommendation. There are just way too many choices, I just want someone to tell me "get this" and be done with it. TIA!

I have a city mini and I just bought a vista. The vista is huge compared with the city mini. I really like it though but I feel like you would still need a smaller stroller too. (not sure if you drive but the UBV seems like it would take up my whole trunk).
ETA - My opinion might be off because I am so used to the size of the city mini - the UPV is an adjustment, even getting around stores seems more tricky.
We love our Vista but never used a car seat with it, just the bassinet. UB has their own car seat now though that doesn't require an adapter, but it wasn't available when DD was born. We had a Chicco Keyfit and were very happy with it.

With the Keyfit, did you use an adapter to put the Vista bassinet into the Keyfit? Is that possible? Or did you just physically move the baby from the bassinet to the carseat?
I like the Keyfit b/c it's convertible, so I'd prefer not to spend money on an infant seat and then again on a toddler seat if possible, but not sure if I want to be waking a potentially sleeping baby, but I can't find anything that talks about adapters.

Interesting, thanks. I have some grand ideas that I'll be going into NYC on the weekends with the baby so wanted the Vista b/c people say it's easy to maneuver around the city and fold down, but holds a ton.

I have the UBV and used with with the car seat adaptor for the Chicco key fit. I loved this, it worked out great. We bought the UBV when DD was 5 months, prior to that, I used the CITy mini GT with adaptor for her carseat. The Vista with adaptor works soo much better than the City mini one.
We also have a Upppa Baby G luxe. These two meet our stroller needs.
ETA: The Cybex works with the Vista using Maxi Cosi adapters. If you're a big traveller, I cannot recommend this car seat enough-- it was my best baby purchase.

We just moved her from the car seat to the bassinet if we were going somewhere that required the stroller, but typically for running into a store I put the car seat into the cart. I figured if it was too annoying we'd buy the adapter and then just use the carseat instead of the bassinet, but it wasn't bad. We mainly used the stroller for walks that either started at our house or the park though, not a lot of in and out errands. UB also makes an insert for the main Vista seat that I think makes it usable at 3ish months?
The KeyFit is the infant seat and the NextFit is their convertible. We do have the NextFit now that DD is a toddler though and like it a lot.
We're going chicco keyfit and chicco liteway plus. The stroller can hold the bucket and then be an umbrella later.
We have this and I'm actually not a fan of the Liteway Plus. I don't think it drives well and it doesn't close well with the canopy attached. I love the KeyFit, but the stroller isn't great. It's not easy to switch back and forth between the stroller holding the bucket seat and the baby sitting in the seat, which we do more often now that DS is older. Just wanted to mention it in case you haven't bought it yet, I ended up buying a B-Agile on Craiglist as a lightweight stroller.
If I were to do it over again, I'd get a Britax B-Safe and a B-Agile and a BOB Motion.

ah, right, I'm getting them confused, too much lingo/branding. so you bought the keyfit and the nextfit, good to know. thanks!

He'll be born in December, so we don't anticipate much stroller use until he's older than 4 or 5 months. Would that change your opinion?
No, because my DS would wake up if I put him in a grocery cart in the carseat, it would wake him because they rattle too much (and when he was young, I needed him to sleep while I ran those errands). I often used the stroller in the beginning when shopping instead of a cart and he was born in February and it was a very snowy winter here.
I just think for the price of the Liteway Plus it's not a great stroller. We got it for $120ish and DH and I still feel like we spent too much.
It will work and it's not the worst stroller, but if I knew then what I know now, I would have gone with another one. I have the BOB Revolution which I love, but it's not practical for everyday use, which is why I would get the Motion instead. My friend has it and I'm jealous and she got the B-Safe seat to go with it so it snaps right in. With my Revolution I have to use an adapter and remove it each time I fold the stroller.

I am not a fancy stroller/car seat person. That being said, I purchased the Keyfit and wish I hadn't. It was nice, and it worked well in the snap n go frame, but DS outgrew it by 7 months. I think we overpaid given the short time period it was in use.

We have an UBV and a Chicco Keyfit 30. We used them both for DD and are using them again for DS. We have not used them together but I think there is an adapter if you really want it.
I have a City Mini GT double (gifted on 2012 when DS was born) and just found out my adapter bar (also bought then) doesn't work with the keyFit we just bought. Oooops.
We had a graco snug ride that was damaged in storage that we used with DD and DS.
We got the Chicco KeyFit and KeyFit Caddy to start, and now have moved up to the Britax marathon and CityMini. We also have a BOB revolution for jogging and hiking.
The KeyFit and Caddy combo was awesome for the first few months. Then we moved someplace hot and needed a stroller that wasn't his car seat (KeyFit gets hot and the sunshade isn't great). And then a month later he got too heavy to lift in and out of the car while in his car seat.
We decided to get a new stroller for DS2. Originally we were getting the UBV but my friend gifted us her Britax B-Ready that she never used. I haven't used it yet but wheeling it around the house has been fun. We are planning on getting the bassinet for it and the Britax infant seat. I do think the close on it is easier than the UBV but feel like with practice the UBV would get easier.

We got our KeyFit 50% off...and I still feel slightly cheated...
I have the UB Cruz and Mesa combo. I love it. I didn't get the Vista because the giant wheels on it scared me. The basket is plenty huge and useful compared to other strollers I see. I would love to drive the 20 minutes to go into NYC more, but DD hates being in her car seat if we're not constantly moving or if someone isn't back there with her paying attention to her needs. The times we have gone, the Cruz is fine for navigating sidewalks.
I get a lot of compliments on the hood of the Mesa - specifically for the fabric and the ease of extending and retracting it.
Some of my old posts have me hating on the Mesa, but that was before I realized there was an infant insert and DD had reached the weight limit and I needed to remove it.
My only complaint about the Cruz is that it doesn't do the full recline so the legs lay flat like the City Mini or Britax strollers (I think?). The Vista doesn't do this either.
I wish UB made a car seat for the next stage so I wouldn't have to do any research on what I'm supposed to buy next.
We used the Britax B-Agile and B-Safe and I love both. Much less fancy than the Uppa, but functional and good quality. That said, I do have Uppa envy.
Same here. When I read that the Britax was pretty much a knock of the City Mini, I went with the Britax.
I'd love an Uppa though, but in reality we don't really use the stroller that much, and by the time we probably will, I'll be in the market for an umbrella stroller.
